We rented an AirBnb here for 5 days in April of 2024. The apartments are all individually owned so they can change from room to room, so this review is only on the facilities as a whole and not our specific AirBnb.||The Good||You are very close to the ocean, a short walk from any of the buildings. The beach is very nice. There are showers on the bridge that connects the resort to the beach to rinse off sand. There are many options for swimming/water fun on the grounds. Multiple indoor and outdoor pools are available throughout the property. All of the pools were well maintained and clean. Parking is ample and finding a spot in front of your building should be easy.|||The Not-So-Good||The entire resort is dated, and by dated I mean whatever was there when they built it is what you're getting now by and large. I don't know when it was built but my guess is the latest would be the early 1990s, and likely before that. The playground was very minimal and not kept up at all, and what was there was broken in some cases. The pool area bathrooms were dingy and in need of painting, with showers out of service in some and many broken fixtures, broken and cracked tile, exposed plumbing, etc... Just things that made it look not well maintained.||There's not a whole lot that's within walking distance to the grounds (unless you're ready for a bit of a hike).||Parking is not free.||There are what seem to be a dozen (at least) stray cats that live under the buildings. Not the biggest deal since they're cute, but it kind of lends itself to this overall feeling that you're in more of a trailer park than a beach resort. And actually, comparing this place to a "nice trailer park" is a pretty good analogy overall.|||The Bad||The apartment building hallways are, and I can't stress this enough, extremely dark. There are zero windows in any of the interior hallways, and only small overhead lights every 15 feet or so. The lighting along with the very odd shape of the hallways themselves (this sort of zig-zag design) along with the bland white and navy blue paint just made it look more like a legit Russian prison than a hotel or resort. Also, the bedrooms in the apartments have windows that face the hallway..... why? Why would you ever need a window in a bedroom so you can look out into a bleak depressing hallway? Very very odd overall building design with this place. The hallways and elevators also have an unpleasant smell, mainly due to them being dark and cramped with old carpet.||As other reviews have mentioned, the nightly karaoke at the Quarter Deck (tiki bar down behind the tower) is SUPER loud. We would try and sit outside on the patio at night and all you can hear is the booming music and singing. It's really a shame that they don't limit that to 1-2 nights a week. My guess is they make decent money off of it and that's more important to them.||The bell carts are super dingy and old. They have also the very classy addition of dirty old shopping carts available for guests to use to transport things to and from their vehicle or the on site laundry I guess. We saw people with shopping carts hanging out in the breezeway and legit thought they were homeless.||There are goose feces all over the grounds.|||Takeaways:||It was inexpensive to stay here, and the primary things we wanted to do (go to the beach and swim in pools) we were able to do comfortably by and large. So there's some value in staying here, as long as you understand what this place is and what it is not. Our trip was overall a fun one, and our small children had a blast. However, I wouldn't stay here again as it was just too rundown and...
Read moreHello everyone, this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in since I have been going to Myrtle Beach. We arrived at the hotel Friday night around 9:30 pm. We first went upstairs to look at the rooms and see what we were getting. When we got 17 floor and went inside rm1706 it was a hot mess. The floors were very dirty going down the hall to the room and it was totally out of date. But let's get back to the room. we walked in the room the floor had rust under the bedroom door, paint was chipping on the walls, the couch was very very dirty, and it smelled like musky mildew. You had to set the air condition at a certain level or the damn thing would freeze up and if it freezes up you will be responsible for the repairs. In 1806 which was my room it was a mess also. The chair was brown and dirty you could see the dirt on the damn chair we had to cover it up with some damn sheets just to sit on it. The couch in this room was smelling like urine. So we called and complained about all of this bull...... but no one cared to help out. I called management about the couch this damn idiot told me that there is no one to help me out about bringing a new bed so that my son could sleep on the pull out bed, so said damn can you bring me some more sheets so that I may cover the bed up better than what it is. I didn't here from anyone in 3hours so when we got back to the room someone had brought some sheet into the room. Damn renters guess what the damn sheets was supposed to have been white but they were brown it looked like piss stains had turned the sheets a different color. After we complained that night the damn owner would give our money on the spot so we couldn't find another hotel. The last damn day that we were there guess wht renters that damn elevator went the hell out. 18 floors and people trying to get the hell out I mean they were running and complaining about the hotel and there stay. I mean all races were complaining about there stay at this Hotel Resort. One guy said he will never come back, the other said they will call his credit card company to stop payment. By far this was the worst experience that my family had ever had during our stay at any Resort in Myrtle Beach. Up grades are in high demand for this Hotel the owners should take pride in the property and...
Read moreWe stayed in the tower. The room looked nice. But it could've been cleaner. My kids hate wearing shoes, so within 10 mins their feet were black. The night we arrived the gate person was so unhelpful. We arrived late in the night. We had no idea where we were going. He just let us in and said stay to your right. Luckily, I drive around again and found the night box. I didn't feel safe that he just let us in with us not having any information. At 1 am someone the a water bottle at our sliding door. It sounded like it broke. It frightened my kids. I couldn't get them to fall asleep. Our sliding door was broken. It did not close all the way so bugs (wasps, gnats, & flies) kept entering. The beds were the worse beds I have ever slept on. They made a popping noise when you slightly moved. They were so small. It was advertised as queen beds, but they were smaller than queens. The doors stuck when opening & closing. The water pressure was not good. Only one person could take a shower for 15 mins at the most or the water was ice cold. It was hard because there were 5 of us and after a day in the water, you want a nice shower. The tub filled up with water during every shower. The wifi was terrible. The kitchen was not stocked like advertised. But the worst part, check out is 10 am. We were on the 2nd floor. We had suitcases and items that we needed to use a cart for. It took over an hour starving at the elevator to go down 1 floor!! I caked the front office to let them know and they said ok. The maid said it was like that every Saturday & Sunday. We weren't charged the extra money they threaten if you are late checking out. The lady at the desk said it's no problem at all. So they clearly have this problem all the time. If we knew it took that long we would've started at 7am to load up our vehicle. The deck & bar was nice. Great access to the beach. Drinks were good, but they only used Burnett's vodka unless you paid for the good stuff. Burnett's is the bottom-of-the-barrel vodka and they could've used something a little better. 2 drinks were $22.00 so it's not like they weren't charging enough to use better vodka. But the pool and lazy river were really nice. The store had reasonably priced items & food. I'd Stat again, but not...
