I would never recommend Murrells Inlet Home Depot for a kitchen counter renovation because this Home Depot uses Thompson Stone. They stand behind Thompson Stone rather than their customer. Thompson stone left an unfinished crevice about 1/4" deep and 1/2" wide around my entire kitchen counter backsplash. Their template person made no thickness measurements nor any overall height measurements. My previous countertop was about 1/2 inch thicker than their countertop. Thompson's countertop thicknesses are skimpier than any other I have used or seen. Consequently, there is a deep unfinished groove about 1/2" tall and 1/4" deep all the way around my kitchen above the backsplash. I now have to tile above the backsplash to cover their mess from their lack of accounting for three dimensions in their template. The manager/scheduler told me they would come in the morning around 9 or 9:30. They came about 1:30. They ruined two area rugs. They will have to be replaced. They damaged my walls going out the door. Under my sink looked like a garbage dump. Neither Thompson's nor Home Depot assumed any responsibility for their poor measurements and workmanship, and neither offered to pay for the costs I am incurring covering up their mess with a row of tile. Not to mention the spackle and paint it will take to fix the walls they hit on the way out. Instead they insisted that I had signed off on their right to make a mess and use whatever dimensions they wanted. They said we would just have to deal with it. Shame on Thompson's and shame on Home Depot. It is telling that they have so many one star reviews. Home Depot did not honor their guarantees either stating " We'll guarantee that your kitchen will fit." Bull-hockey. We took pictures, and two of the Home Depot employees agreed that Thompson's had really messed up. Then, I got a call from Sabre at Home Depot. She laughed and said those two employees were unqualified. I asked if someone at Home Depot would just come look at the mess. Sabre said they absolutely would not. I asked to speak with her manager. At first, she said, "I am the manager." When I asked if she had a supervisor, she said, "He is tied up. He will call later." That was days ago. Shame on you Home...
Read morePurchased new Whirlpool refrigerator February 25th. Last of June it quit. Needed 1. Control board. 2. Filter dryer. 3. Low on freon. Whirlpool serviceman arrived July 12, 2022. Refrigerator manufactured in January 2022. One part not available until maybe September 8 to 22 per Whirlpool. I can purchase parts from three different suppliers but if I work on the refrigerator I would void warranty. Bigger problem is leaking freon from a sealed system. Leaks in refrigerators are almost impossible to find and repair. Recharging the system is only a temporary repair as in four months since it was manufactured it had already leaked enough that the compressor was having to run all the time. Tech advised that I unplug it so as not to ruin compressor. For two months I have had to daily purchase 40 pounds of ice for an ice chest in our kitchen and drain the water from the ice chest. Home Depot puts all responsibility on Whirlpool and Whirlpool blames it all on Covid19. So in the full one year warranty I have already lost two months, so far, of the refrigerator not in service. The sealed system has a five year warranty but we know it is already leaking and at this point I'm waiting for a part that no one can say when it will be available. Glad I didn't buy the "extended warranty" or I would be even more upset as the service would be the same. Recommend looking for a local appliance dealer that services the brands it sells. Planning to write the CEO's of Home Depot and Whirlpool. How can anyone not see I have a defective refrigerator? (leaking freon is a major problem and doubtful it can be repaired in my home.) Just adding freon is a temporary fix. The freon in a refrigerator should last the entire life of the refrigerator, that's why it's called a "sealed" system. Thought you might need to know this before purchasing any appliance...
Read moreA waste of our time, only frustration! We were prepared to purchase 10 cases of bathroom tile … a $500+ order either in stock or delivery. No one was assisting in the tile area. We walked a way to the appliance area where 3 men associates stood doing nothing facing each other. The associate told my wife “go back to the large desk in the tile section.” Using a walker following knee surgery, she walked back to the tile desk and sat down. I followed behind and encounter the same three men doing nothing in a chat circle. They told me, “go to the tile desk.” We waited and waited. I walked the 4 aisles of the tile section … up and down and up and down again. No one! I returned to the 3 men still chatting in a circle doing nothing. Frustrated, one of them walked past the tile section and returned saying, “he’s somewhere, he’s a new guy.” He headed back to his buddies and I asked, “what do we do now?” Finally, without any energy, he said “Oh, I can do that follow me.” We were not making another walk … after back and forth 3 times for no result … nor did we have any confidence that this associate was capable or cared if our order ever got place correctly. We left and will do business elsewhere … anyplace elsewhere! Any manager who would see the laidback chitchat gaggle of those 3 men manning appliances and apparently useless to do otherwise is useless … probably the reason it exists. As for the new guy, I’ll wager...
