We came here for dinner. Plenty of parking around the building. We looked around the store for a few minutes because there was no wait to get in. The store and restaurant were clean and the staff was friendly. Our waitress was not on top of things. She came quickly to greet us and take our drink order. She came back 10 minutes later without the drinks to tell us there was no lemonade as she apologized. She took our food order and got distracted by someone that walked into the restaurant as she shouted “Here comes trouble” three times before remembering she was taking our order. Once she came back to reality she finished our orders and said she would be back in a minute with our drinks. Twenty minutes later we got our drinks almost thirty minutes after ordering them. Luckily, the food came out a few minutes after the drinks so we didn’t wait long to eat. The food was great. It’s the reason I rated 4 stars and not 3. I got the Country Fried Steak with dumplings and hash brown casserole. The steak was battered and fried beautifully. I enjoyed every bite with the country gravy on top. Dumplings were great as usual. The hash brown casserole was fantastic. I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it as much as I did. I guess when you fry cheese and potatoes there is no way for it to be bad. I also sampled my daughter’s Buffalo Mac and cheese. Really creamy mac with a kick from the buffalo sauce. Overall good visit minus the bad waitress.

Turkey trial run. Getting ahead of the game I ordered the Thursday $5.99 lunch special with turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole and biscuits on the side. Food temperature to be desired, gravy a little thin so not much to cover the dry stuffing. Nice couple slices of tasty turkey and sweet potato casserole becoming a fav of mine. Wife’s choice of two for $5.99 was the grilled chicken salad and loaded bake potato. Salad was laden down with chunks of chicken, bacon, diced cucumbers and tomatoes, lettuce, cheese and croutons. Limited salad dressings had her trying the honey mustard that she was pleased with. The one thing that was hot was the potato and that too had plenty of cheese, bacon, a scoop of butter and sour cream and garnished with green onions. Love the southern hospitality feel and home style cooking. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Still not a fan of wandering thru crowded gift shop and certainly not paying your food bill at the gift shop counter. Should be able to pay at the table.

A bit over a year ago I offered this location a one star review, It was one star at best and well deserved, the manager experiece back then was minus five stars but that was THEN and THIS is NOW! After almost a year away I decided to give the Murrells Inlet SC Cracker Barrel another try. Glad I did as "wow" what a turn around! I included a picture as the food was as good as it looks! I deleted my pervious negative review as it was clear things are better now! My food was perfect, food came out hot and extra fast and our server was fantastic, professional, polite with a nice smile. I love when thing improve, we truly enjoyed our meal. I still feel the side item portions could and should be larger but it was hot and good and the service was fast and friendly. The friend pork chops were fantastic! Things were so much better this time! Thank You Cracker Barrel management and staff for a great lunch and turning a bad experience around! Was a five Star experience this go round!

Well they don’t treat customers as they should, we went in on Sunday evening not busy, well we haven’t been in a long time, because of the service & food we had gotten the last time, anywho the-food was good, but as we was leaving we brought what said pecan pie, we get home which we live like only 5 miles down the rd, there were chocolate chip in it, I call they say sorry please come back get another 1, so we did because we was really wanting it, so go back manger said how sorry he was & assured me it was right, (pie #2) get home cut pie chocolate chips in that 1 called oh we so sorry blah blah, when u come back we’ll treat y’all to meals, go back 2 days later get another pie (pie3) get home same thing, called back talk to store manager he said how embarrassing it was, I will bring u 1 myself what’s ur address I give it to at 10 am, I leave at 12:30 no pie so I leave old 1 on table on porch(inclosed ), & a note on door, but did he bring it to my house no took it to the office, which calls my daughter & ask her to come get, but that’s ok, it was good, called the store back & ask to speech to Mr Jean (store manager) the guy ask is this about the pie what is the problem now real mean like, I finally hung up on him, he was so rude, called back next day cause I wanted to thank the manager for bringing it & ask was there a problem at the gate, since the pie was at the office, he said u told me to take it there to office, why did I give u my address, I was telling him about the other guy was so rude , now I see why he was, if the store manager can be rude so can he, he was really rude when all I wanted to do is thank him, a few weeks later went into to get our free meal(lol) 1 manager came out & said it’s not 2 meals we only paying for 1, I will never go back there again & yes I will let any & everyone I know about the service I got, there going down hill as it is, u would think they would be taking care of the few customers, sorry so long, had to tell...

Went in for lunch around 12:45pm this afternoon with my parents, the drinks were wrong, my parents ordered an unsweet tea and a half and half, both getting straight sweet tea. The waitress was prompt to fix the mistake, things were fine. I ordered the country fried steak meal with three country sides, and this is where my entire day was ruined. What I received seemed to be ground beef tossed in flour and dumped in old fryer oil, it could've fooled me with the appearance of being old giving the color of the flour, as if it had been set aside and then just tossed back in the fryer after we placed the order...but ground beef?? That isn't even the proper meat for a country fried steak, and the taste took me back to the days of eating a steamed hamburger from the racetrack I grew up next to, flavorless, soggy, and just downright grainy overall. It seriously ruined my day if not my week, because I've always known Cracker Barrel's Country fried steak to be one of the top hit staples on the menu, and i had a serious craving. After the first few bites I had waited in hopes the waitress would make her rounds again and i could express my concerns and hopefully have it fixed, but we didn't see her again for the 25 minutes after the fact. By then my parents were ready to go and i was just outright too upset to wait any longer. My parents said their food was great, but the experience I had, I don't think I would ever go back, especially if i can't get a country fried steak like i used to get when i was living in Virginia. Just completely disappointed in both my order and the service...

My family and I travel a lot and have eaten at many Cracker Barrel’s. This has been the worst one we’ve been to. We came for dinner. Food was okay. Mashed potatoes were disappointing and could not eat them. There were about two good employees when we went. The hostess was a very kind lady who sat us and our waitress was okay. Not sure if it was a manager, didn’t get her name, she had dark hair. Extremely rude. When we ordered we were asked which two bread sides would we like: corn bread or biscuits. We are a party of 8 so that would be 16 in total. Did not receive 16. The dark haired lady said they were out of biscuits but could give us three. Then we had about eight pieces of corn bread. Not everyone at the table was able to get the two pieces like we were offered. We asked the waitress, she said she would double check. Here comes the dark haired girl again, she gives us four more corn bread and said if we want more she will have to charge us. We started with 11, received 4 more. Still short a corn bread. We just left it at that. As I said, overall the food was pretty good besides the mashed potatoes were obviously very old. I now wish I had taken pictures. Sad that the experience wasn’t great due to a rude staff member/manager that doesn’t actually fix anything. Will not come back here. We will happily enjoy other Cracker Barrel’s that have kind staff. I read old reviews and lots of great ones. Unfortunately I can’t say our experience was great like others on here. If you go, good luck and I hope you have a...
