Read moreWent in for lunch around 12:45pm this afternoon with my parents, the drinks were wrong, my parents ordered an unsweet tea and a half and half, both getting straight sweet tea. The waitress was prompt to fix the mistake, things were fine. I ordered the country fried steak meal with three country sides, and this is where my entire day was ruined. What I received seemed to be ground beef tossed in flour and dumped in old fryer oil, it could've fooled me with the appearance of being old giving the color of the flour, as if it had been set aside and then just tossed back in the fryer after we placed the order...but ground beef?? That isn't even the proper meat for a country fried steak, and the taste took me back to the days of eating a steamed hamburger from the racetrack I grew up next to, flavorless, soggy, and just downright grainy overall. It seriously ruined my day if not my week, because I've always known Cracker Barrel's Country fried steak to be one of the top hit staples on the menu, and i had a serious craving. After the first few bites I had waited in hopes the waitress would make her rounds again and i could express my concerns and hopefully have it fixed, but we didn't see her again for the 25 minutes after the fact. By then my parents were ready to go and i was just outright too upset to wait any longer. My parents said their food was great, but the experience I had, I don't think I would ever go back, especially if i can't get a country fried steak like i used to get when i was living in Virginia. Just completely disappointed in both my order and the service...
Read moreMy family and I travel a lot and have eaten at many Cracker Barrelâs. This has been the worst one weâve been to. We came for dinner. Food was okay. Mashed potatoes were disappointing and could not eat them. There were about two good employees when we went. The hostess was a very kind lady who sat us and our waitress was okay. Not sure if it was a manager, didnât get her name, she had dark hair. Extremely rude. When we ordered we were asked which two bread sides would we like: corn bread or biscuits. We are a party of 8 so that would be 16 in total. Did not receive 16. The dark haired lady said they were out of biscuits but could give us three. Then we had about eight pieces of corn bread. Not everyone at the table was able to get the two pieces like we were offered. We asked the waitress, she said she would double check. Here comes the dark haired girl again, she gives us four more corn bread and said if we want more she will have to charge us. We started with 11, received 4 more. Still short a corn bread. We just left it at that. As I said, overall the food was pretty good besides the mashed potatoes were obviously very old. I now wish I had taken pictures. Sad that the experience wasnât great due to a rude staff member/manager that doesnât actually fix anything. Will not come back here. We will happily enjoy other Cracker Barrelâs that have kind staff. I read old reviews and lots of great ones. Unfortunately I canât say our experience was great like others on here. If you go, good luck and I hope you have a...
