Ace tool warranty does not apply here even though all ACE hand tools are guaranteed for life no matter who warranties them with or without receit . Apparently Shafers in Eureka at either stores do not choose to honor ACE guarantee even though they sell them. Most of the employees know nothing about warranty or anything else they sell. Service is generally terrible and employees would rather avoid you than help. The owner/managers seem to want your money and be done with you and above any warranty. Chances are you will usually spend more time pissed off looking than buying in Shafers.More than once looking I have caught employees hiding and watching me like I was a shoplifter rather tha help.I have spent thousands of $ over the years and felt obligated to rate them since I have several garden tools they refused to warranty and dismissed me even they told me they told me guaranteed ar time of purchase....

I went here with my dad to pick up some manure for gardening. There were no shopping carts available outside. My 70-year-old father had to go inside to get a card for the bags of manure from outside. The carts were small and tore one of the bags of manure. He did not notice until we were in the store and so he was leaving a little manure trail under the shopping cart. And he told me when he went inside to get the cart and then take it out of the store in order to load the manure that a woman working there was watching him suspiciously. He told her that there were no cards available outside and he could not carry the bags of manure because he uses a cane to walk with. So not the best setup for senior citizens or people who need walking assistance. Maybe keep a few cards available out front, or have better customer service where someone would be willing to help a person who needs extra...

The store has a large footprint and is well organised, with good selection and knowledgeable and friendly staff. Moderate selection of lumber ranges from craft dowels and trim pieces up to long 2x12 boards. They will cut boards and posts to desired length for purchase. Lumber section does not carry full sheets plywood. Chain and wire of many varieties available by the foot. House paint section with paint mixed to other. Keys cut on site. Large parking lot.
