WARNING: If you own an Apple device do NOT bring it here! He destroyed my Macbook!
My Macbook worked 100% ok before I brought it here. It had never been serviced and was in perfect condition.
I Brought my MacBook in for a simple battery replacement. I even provided the battery to make it easier on Danny. He told me he would try to have it finished the same day , but if not 2 days later (he said he was busy the next day). I didn't hear anything for 2 days until I finally called right before he closed.
He told me he forgot to call me but that he "accidentally" cut my touch pad/mouse cable but he ordered a new one and he’d have it fixed in 2 days. 2 days goes by and I call to check on my Macbook and he tells me the part hasn't come in yet and that he’s about to leave out of state for a week. but not to worry he'll give me a wireless keyboard and mouse to use for that week because Monday school started coming back from Spring break.
I go by the shop to get my Macbook, and he gives me a disgusting food covered wireless keyboard and mouse. I get home to notice my Macbook isn't put back together all the way I could literally see the inside from the back. It wouldn't come on but finally came on after holding the power button for 5 minutes (Not normal) and it sounded as loud as a plane so I immediately turned it off. And called him to tell him all the issues and all he could say is "He was very sorry and when he got back I'd be his #1 priority". My Macbook was unusable the whole week he was gone despite him saying it was fine.
He got back I dropped my MacBook of again, I call the next day and he says he "Had an important service call to make and was busy and didn't get to it" despite saying when he got back I'd be #1 priority. At this point it's been 2 weeks since I dropped my Macbook off for a simple battery replacement. So frustrated I messaged him letting him know if it isn’t finished tomorrow I’ll be taking it else where that knows what they're doing and bringing the bill to Danny.
The next day I received a message from Danny tell me "I need to pick up my computer since I want to take it somewhere else" So I immediately picked up my computer and took it to Angelina repair in Lufkin. I told him my crazy situation and horrible experience. He opened it up in front of me and showed me all the damage that was done to my Macbook and new battery. He agreed it seemed Danny did not know what he was doing clearly.
He then was kind enough to give me an invoice and it resulted to almost $200 in damages to my device. ($173.45) I then took the invoice to Danny (Pineywoods Computer) and he said he didn't have the money at the moment to come back later in the week. I came back every day for the next 2 days and finally on the second day he gave me $170. He couldn't even give me the full $173.45 that was invoiced.
Overall Danny is VERY unprofessional and a bad business man. This has easily been the most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had. What should’ve been a same day repair if not next day has turned into a 2 week long repair and now my battery, touch pad, keyboard and I’m sure more needs to be fixed. This was my first and will be my last time ever taking anything here again.
I HIGHLY don’t recommend unless you want your devices messed up worse. Communication was non existent. You have to call him or you’ll never hear anything back. These picture are all the damage done to my...
Read moreMy husband and I have used Pineywoods Computer for a number of computer diagnostic and repair issues over the last several years, both personally and professionally. Danny Powell is the owner and he is very honest, competent, and hard working. He's very attentive to his customers' needs and proposes both realistic and affordable solutions.
In addition to providing excellent computer diagnostic and repair services, Danny also offers a computer/electronics recycling service, which is something that no one else in our area provides. Just last month, he and his associate came and picked up all of our old computers and electronics from our office and took them off our hands! We had been wondering for years how to accomplish this on our own and he just took care of it for us.
I'm proud to call Danny my friend and proud to recommend him and his business to all of my friends. Go see him. You won't be...
Read moreI had dropped off a desktop that was failing to boot up at this location and had a $600 budget in order to resolve the issue. To their merit Pineywoods Computer did give me a prompt response within 48 hours, however they had informed me that the likely issue was my video card and that my $600 budget wasn't going to be close to the end cost to repair the desktop. I have since taken my desktop to a repair store in the North Dallas area where I found out that the actual diagnosis was a failed SSD card. $300 later I have a working desktop again, but unfortunately my experience at this location had created some confusion about what I needed to do to...
