I witnessed the most appalling treatment of a first-time visitor to Nantucket Ice Rink. A father was trying to teach his 4 year old to skate during a public skate & was told in a rude way that he had to get off the ice because he didn’t have skates on. They weren’t harming anyone and didn’t move more than 3 feet because the little boy could not stand up yet. When the Dad tried to explain that he couldn’t help his son if he had skates on too, the staff became indignant & told him not to argue & then asked him to leave. By this time the little boy was in tears because he so much wanted to stay & work on his skating. It was heart- breaking to see this insensitive treatment by the staff. This ice rink cares about...
