It's a great store for the cause - and if you happen to need a wig after undergoing chemo - but the ambiance needs a makeover. For a thrift store, the items are rather expensive. I wonder, were the items donated? Are the store volunteers paid? I've seen several items that I could buy brand new elsewhere at the same price for a used version here at this store. You have no idea how much that irritates me when I'm thrift shopping, so please excuse my scrutiny over the money flow at this "charity" business. Next off, please screen your employees to see if they'd make a good fit for the store image. I've been here several times and the staff is not friendly, and they're all probably over 75 years old (sorry, but I have to be honest about this). Aren't there any younger people applying to work here? If so, please hire them. A bit of energy could do not harm to this store. And finally, you might want to just stock items that would appeal to younger people. Much of what I've seen in the store looks dated, if you know what I mean. It's a thrift store - not a museum. There might be less gawkers if there's more stuff there that people would be interested in buying. Collectibles are always in a nonessential item market. I mean no disrespect to the store or the cause - but feel there's a lot of room for improvement. It would be really sad to see this store fade away, but I wonder how this place stays up and running with all the red flags. Please disregard this review if the above concerns are remedied...
Read moreI am so sorry.....I THOUGHT I WAS RATING THE COMMUNITY SHOP ON FRANKLIN IN NAPA... SO CONTINUE READING, KEEPING THAT IN MIND. I have been there many times and they charge way too much for their stuff. Even the purses are very pricey. Do they want to move their stuff or hold on to it. They get the stuff for free. 1.00 would be a plus in that case ? They are grouchy people and older women, always looking sad. Their pricers are way overboard. It is a darn thrift shop, not Macy's !!!! ???? Honestly. They also act like they will not lower the prices and it is their money. ???? Bargaining is fun. They are not a high society place !!!! ???? Anna. I have gone in there 1 week. Gone back and the stuff is still there 3 weeks later. They will not budge their prices ????? I DO THINK THE DISCOVERY SHOP IS TOO HIGH TOO THOUGH. THESE ARE THRIFT SHOPS. NOT EXPENSIVE CORPORATE STORES LIKE...
Read moreI keep abreast of their frequent sales and get amazing deals. Because I signed up with my phone number to earn $10 for every $100 I spend, I receive texts when they are having sales several times a month. Sale or not, I can always find something to buy to enhance my life. There are $1 books, $2 DVD's, $4 t-shirts, $5 pair of shoes, $2 baskets and vases and often 50% off sales. They have high quality merchandise which when I check online sells for 4x as much. Informed shoppers know that this is a fantastic place to make purchases at a great price. I also feel good about buying there because it goes to a wonderful cause. I shop there at least twice a week because their merchandise constantly changes based on the donations they receive. If you haven't been there, I highly recommend. You will most likely become a regular. Seniors 55+ older (like me) get 10% off on Tuesdays and Military always get a...
