I bought a three pack of IPL sessions from Groupon 2 days before, and arrived for my 2:30 appointment (which included a mandatory consultation) a few minutes early. I was hoping to get my face, hands, and neck done, as I have at 2 other locations. The aesthetician who performed my "consult" (which lasted less than 60 seconds and didn't even entail close observation of my face), told me that their laser is not that strong, so they normally don't do different areas, because I would likely not see much of an effect from only one treatment. She then proceeded to hand me a folder, which showed their medspa monthly membership options. I asked if I could get the three areas done today and come back at another time to repeat any of the areas instead. (I did not ask why clients don't get to determine how much of an effect they require from any one treatment to be satisfied.) She said that she would ask the manager about whether or not they could do separate body parts, and left me for a few minutes for that. She came back to inform me that they would do 3 separate areas, but that they would only be able to do one area today, for "lack of time." She then escorted me to the treatment room, where she handed me an IPAD which showed me a video that lasted about 90 seconds, on aftercare. Then the nurse arrived to perform the procedure on my face. I kid you not: The WHOLE procedure was performed in less than 2 minutes. She did FAR fewer pulses than my prior procedures. She did not cover the surface area of my entire face. And she did not go over any areas twice, as both my previous practitioners had done. I had travelled by bus over an hour away and they knew that, but now I have to come all the way back to do it again because they "don't have time" to take less than 4 minutes to complete my neck and hands as well? Wow. I swear, between the procedure and consult COMBINED I spent less than 4 minutes actually interacting with these people, lol. And most of that time was spent hearing them tell me that they don't have time. How much time do they even allocate for consultations combined with procedures, I wonder? 🤔 Then afterwards, I gave the aesthetician a $20 tip (out of a misplaced sense of obligation), not knowing whether to give it to the nurse, who had abruptly left, and the aesthetician just took it without even a thank you. Maybe she expected a $50 tip for a procedure that was over in less than 2 minutes? Regardless, it was definitely my first experience handing a tip to an employee and not even getting a basic courtesy "thank you" in response. Then, when I made my followup appointment, I declined a printed confirmation, assuming that I would get a text or email confirmation, as I have gotten every single time at every other similar service over the last 15 years, but apparently they don't do that. (Maybe it takes too much time?) So that was another first. I will update this review and my stars after my followup...
Read moreFirst, staff is nice, friendly, and professional. I started going here due to a Groupon for laser hair removal. They went over other services. The laser hair removal didn't work for me after 6 sessions. I'm not a hairy person by nature as in arms/legs/facial but this was for under arms. I signed up for the EMS/Vanquish which also were a waste of money and time. I did one treatment of Vanquish because the hydration scale was always too low to be able to do the session. I'm someone that faithfully drinks water daily minimum of 64oz and I would increase it a week before and it was not enough. So I was changed to two EMS areas which is not what I signed up for but I was tired of rescheduling for Vanquish. For most of my appointments I was seen 10-20 minutes late. Once or twice I get but it happened more often than it should. I contacted this office a couple times about cancelling and was never told that they changed policies on being able to cancel after 6 months for a $99 fee. They also changed policies on metals/jewelry for EMS and I have 7 pairs of earrings that have to be removed. The issue here is lack of communication. A text goes out to confirm your appointment each time and that should be included for the EMS session so you can prepare. Overall, waste of money for the service and waste of my time on several occasions. I was more upset that I called in February and April about cancelling and I was not told about the fee to cancel on either call when my 6 months was up in December. I was upset with this contract when I could not do the Vanquish last Summer/Fall so the office manager knew I was dissatisfied for a long time. I understand she might not remember everyone but I've spoken to her more than once as issues arose that I was not...
Read moreI typically don’t write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience so that others don’t waste thousands of dollars and countless hours. While the staff at Couture Med Spa is very friendly, and the technician performing my laser procedure was excellent, I ultimately feel misled and disappointed by the company’s lack of transparency and accountability.
Before signing up for laser hair removal, I consulted with multiple spas, many of which were upfront in stating that laser treatments were unlikely to be effective on blonde hair. However, two different associates at Couture Med Spa assured me that their new laser technology worked on blonde hair, giving me guarantees that I would see results. When I asked what would happen if the treatments were ineffective, I was told not to worry—that "we would work something out." I even requested that this be noted in my file.
After just a few sessions, I raised concerns that there was no progress, yet I was advised to continue because results supposedly required 12 months. After completing all 12 sessions, I can definitively say that there has been zero change—my results are exactly the same as before I started treatment.
Despite this, Couture Med Spa refuses to acknowledge any issue or offer a partial refund, even though their team provided false assurances from the beginning. It is misleading to guarantee a service will work when it does not, and it is extremely disappointing that the company will not take responsibility.
I would not recommend Couture Med Spa for laser hair removal. A business should be honest and transparent, and when mistakes are made, they should make them right. Unfortunately, that has not been my...
