DO NOT LIVE HERE!! Don’t make the same mistake we made! The apartments are always cold in the winter and hot in the summer because the drafts are so bad. You can stand in front of your door or by a window and feel the air coming in and if you complain they say close your doors or oh well. Our sliding door has never locked even after maintenance came and supposedly fixed when we first moved in two years ago. Ha! I have had an outlet pop and burn in my hallway and the maintenance guy said it always happens with the hallway outlets, really reassuring...not! You can call and leave ten messages and they won’t get returned and if they do it’s after the problem already solved itself. Our heater wouldn’t shut off and I called in an emergency maintenance request and no one came and my husband ended up fixing it himself. The floors creak terribly and are uneven in more places than one. The oven doesn’t cook evenly. Appliances are old and need to be updated. Yard crew and maintenance don’t clean walkways unless you complain for weeks. And if you have rude or loud neighbors and think they’ll do anything about it then you’re kidding yourself. Had one neighbor under our apartment who I called the police on for fighting, weed inside the apartment stinking up ours, loud music and loud voices at night and they never did a thing. Then the people who moved in after them I’ve had to call the police as much as twice in an hour at 1-3a for loud music and screaming like at a club and the office didn’t care. I’ve called them more than once a day in the middle of the day when I’m trying to get toddlers to nap about the loud music that had been on for hours and they say the same thing over and over that they’ll send them a message, they’ll forward the complaint to Ruth Ann, they’ll call the tenants and tell them to turn it down but guess what?? It doesn’t get quieter and they haven’t done a thing about it! My neighbor had her tires slashed and they said oh well. Police told us there have been numerous robberies and to be extra careful and the people in the office had no idea what the police were talking about! It’s astonishing how badly managed this place is. And the rent is way too high for such an outdated, badly managed, parking lot always has a hole, bad neighborhood apartment. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone for a million bucks and even then I’d tell you to run. And when we put in our notice they wanted to know where we going and I said it was none of their business. I am counting down the days till we are done with this place and never coming back. If I could give negative stars I would. Also, about a year ago I actually had to slam the door in the maintenance guys face for arguing with me about the work order I put in myself online with a note that clearly stated my kids nap at a certain time and not to come then. I was holding my sleeping infant and he proceeded to argue with me and tell me I didn’t put that note on there so I requested he not be sent to my apartment anymore. Have also had complaints saying my AC has leaked into downstairs neighbors apartment which guess what it was but they just shop vacuumed the floor and left it at that. Had a golf ball go through my sons window and I cleaned up all the glass and taped cardboard up myself before anyone even came to look at it and then he came out for broken blinds not a window and it took almost two weeks for it to be replaced which was great for my electric bill in the winter. We also have had Renter’s insurance since day 1 but yet twice they’ve tried charging us for their insurance saying we didn’t have it but they had to give me credits because I did and I refused to pay it. When you turn on hot water for more than five seconds you can hear a popping sound inside the walls and if you flush a toilet be prepared to burn! For how much you pay($1350 for a 3/2) you should have a pantry and way better property. And designated parking as in two per apartment that are covered. And because they just paint the apartment when I clean the walls paint runs...
Read moreMy fiancé and I were initially very excited and grateful to move in here in May. It was difficult finding an apartment since we were moving from Ohio, and couldn't readily tour one. We got scammed out of the first apartment we applied for and realized it only a few days before we were supposed to move in and leave our Ohio apartment. Nashboro Village accepted our application and approved it overnight! It was such a blessing. After we moved into Village Green and got settled, problems started quickly. The front office and maintenance were VERY slow to fix any problems. I am beyond frustrated with the front office. After we moved in, instead of charging us for the electricity and water for just the last few days of May (we moved in the 29th), they mistakenly charged us for the whole month. It was around a $200 discrepancy. I was not worried though, since it wasn't a big deal to just notify the office. They remembered our faces. Eventually, between calling and going to the office in person, it took until the beginning of September to fix that discrepancy. I began getting overdue balance emails. I had contacted them exactly 9 times to fix the issue (about once a week). They always said they would take care of it. Finally, the amazing man who helped us sign our lease papers and get in (I can't remember his name) fixed the issue in late August/early September. Upon moving in, there was a terrible brown recluse problem. I figured it was just because the apartment had been empty for several months prior. We sprayed many cans of recluse spray. They didn't all go away, and several BIG spiders remained. Finally, pest control came around and did something in September, and we've only seen 2 since, but we lived with that issue for around four months. My fiancé and I began experiencing health issues we believe may be due to black mold in the air ducts. When we put in a request to maintenance, they changed our air filter (which needs changed every 2-3 months here fyi). It hadn't been changed in years. My dog had issues with a chronic runny nose, and it went away. They did not address the concern for mold however, and our health issues remain. It took a week for maintenance to fix a fallen shower rod. I realize that's not an emergency, but a week? We saw these quick, little bugs in the kitchen upon moving in. We only saw maybe one or two every so often, so we would just squish them and think nothing of it. We keep our kitchen very clean, but it's not unreasonable to think that some bugs could get in once in a while. Recently, we've been seeing A LOT of them. I decided to try to find what bug they were, as I'd never seen them before. Turns out, they are German cockroaches, and we have an infestation in our kitchen! Perhaps this is the cause of our health issues. I put in a maintenance request today, as I just figured this out about an hour ago and that is what made me write this post. Our neighbor had them too and didn't know what they were. Likely, the whole building is infested.
I realize I'm lucky to pay less than $1K a month for rent in Nashville, but our apartment has a stove from 1972 (I looked it up), the water heater sucks, nasty/dangerous bugs run rampant, the front office does a terrible job of communicating with residents, the dumpster is always overflowing, we can't use the pool or gym because COVID (but we are still charged the same amount even though it's not kept up with), rec center (it's overrun with weeds and "under construction"), or the dog park (because of how unkempt it is). This place is not work the $925 I pay. I will be happily leaving at the end of my lease in a few months. I don't recommend...
Read moreI have lived at nashboro village/Annaline for over ten years and from day one this office staff and management have been horrible. The office staff seems to get away with a lot of BS without any accountability. I say this because in ten years this is the way it’s always been without any change, regardless of management.
I was recently offered a “special promotion“ and offered a transfer into a renovated apartment. I was told they would waive the transfer fee. Mind you, they are offering this to me while I only have four months left on my current lease. (Thanks?) Since my current apartment is falling apart I said yes. Since this was framed as a “special promotion” and the manager, Price, never mentioned my rent would increase; I naively assumed my rent would stay the same. No, it’s going up $200 a month. That’s fine I guess, but it’s the same apartment model I already live in and it sort of feels like Price intentionally left that bit out. Because why would you not tell me that? Why would that be something I just find out after the fact?
It’s now two days until I am to transfer into my new “renovated” apartment and I just now found out they won’t let me use Flex to pay my rent for my first month in my new “renovated” apartment. WHY?! I’ve been using flex this entire time to pay rent. NOBODY bothered to relay this very important information to me; I just sort of found out at the last minute. If I’ve been paying with flex this whole time, but I’m not allowed to this ONE time; wouldn’t it make sense to let me know that a month ago when I agreed to the transfer??? Now I sit here in my apartment with my stuff packed, moving arrangements are made, and I find this information out at the last minute basically by accident! This isn’t much of a “special promotion” at all.
This is really just one example of how it’s always been here regardless of management. It would take me too long to sit here and list everything I’ve put up with when dealing with this office staff. You could probably read any other review to get a pretty good synopsis. Here’s just a few highlights of my experience of the more recent management : This past winter, my heater stopped working just before getting snowed in. For an entire month I was without heat. I called their “emergency” maintenance line and emailed the manager, Price, numerous times. I had to purchase space heaters that shot my electric bill up. I went a month without heat and they never acknowledged that. It got repaired only after repeated attempts over a month to get someone to fix it. This was a violation of my lease. I was never compensated in any way. They have entered my apartment numerous times unannounced, set my alarm off, and then leave my apartment with the alarm still going off. This is also a violation of my lease. -Years ago I asked to have my garbage disposal fixed. They never did and I gave up asking. It’s still broken. This is another violation of my lease.
Even when I first moved in to Nashboro Village years ago, I showed up with my U-Haul packed and ready to sign my lease, and they told me my apartment wasn’t ready and I had to move into a different unit. The only one available was an apartment without a washer/dryer like I originally signed up for. So from day one, this is how it’s been: They screw up and I...
