Ruby Tuesday’s 03.14.2024
Arrived at 7:50PM.
Was immediately greeted with a smile and warm welcome. I was allowed to choose my seat.
No one suggested anything or asked if they could start me with anything since the restaurant was moderately busy.
7:55PM I was greeted by the server but he didn’t introduce himself. He did offer to upsize my sangria.
7:57 I went to the bathroom. The bathroom was immaculate. It smelled refreshing and was clean. If I didn’t have a phobia about sitting on cold porcelain (or anything cold) I might have actually sat on the seat! It was the cleanest bathroom I have seen.
8:01 my appetizer arrived (side of broccoli) as well as my sangria. The broccoli was delicious tender yet crispy. Just like I like it. The sangria wasn’t anything fancy to look at as you may see. But it tasted amazing I ordered the Peachy Sangria
The aesthetics were rustic and slightly pleasing. I did not get the salad bar. But I did get to see it. It was full and looked delicious. I had to wait to take pictures as there were diners helping themselves to the delicacies offered so it may appear that it is half empty. However, it WAS full. I was very hungry so the broccoli is already devoured. I would like to visit here during lunch one day. At night it just seems dreary. But the people are pleasant and
8:04 my broccoli was devoured.
8:07 menus still not removed from my table. I went up and returned them myself.
8:09 my food arrived. I ordered the Deconstructed Kabobs. It smells amazing. My kabobs are with shrimp. It’s so hot!! But so delicious. The shrimp is juicy the rice light and fluffy the veggies grilled to a tantalizingly succulent crisp. Not soggy, limp, or slimy. I absolutely love this dish. I must go and continue eating.
8:17 Side note: my broccoli plate is still at the edge of my table.
8:18 the manager came and greeted me. Did not introduce himself (he was the only one not wearing all black). He did check to be sure I was ok. I advised him I’m great. The food is great and my drink is fantastic. He did take my appetizer plate. I’m not holding his lack of introduction against him. He has a lot of other tables as business began to pick up around 8:10 PM. Not only that, but he appears to be running the bar. Poor guy.
8:22 Finished my food. Mind you I’ve been filling out this review since it arrived.
8:23 server arrived to bring my check. Before he could drop it, I requested one more sangria. Dessert wasn’t offered… debating if I will ask for something anyway… probably shouldn’t but…. Maybe to go? 🤔
8:28 my sangria arrived. Courtesy of our Mystery Man-ager 🤭 tee-hee even tastier than the first one… 🤤🤤🤤😌
8:35 finished sangria
8:45 server came back and dropped check. My hesitation had him retract it. I requested dessert then the check. Dessert is to go. I asked two separated ice cream cups and the cookie by itself.
8:46 check arrived
8:48 cookie and company arrived.
I had a blast. Was relaxed enough to drink and read. May be my new chill spot. Not sure. It was nice to be left alone to...
Read moreFirst of all, the establishment didn't open the doors until 11am. I arrived at 10:45am. Through my research all Ruby Tuesdays were to open at 10am for Fathers Day. My son said the RT in Clarksville stated all were supposed to open at that time being Father's Day. Maybe being francshised-owned, they decided to open up at 11. I am figuring a staffing issue, that's my opinion. I ordered the New Country-Style Ribs, but they were severely overcooked and difficult to cut with a knife. Naturally, I sent them back. I was really looking forward to enjoying those ribs, so it was disappointing that they ruined my Father's Day. My son ordered the Burnt End Appetizer, and he said they were extremely dry, but he was so hungry he didn't complain. The waitress didn't seem to apologize for the condition of the food; she just asked if I wanted to order something else. The place was understaffed, with my waitress serving 6-7 tables at once. Perhaps more waitstaff were coming in later, but as I left, I didn't see any other servers. Eventually, I had to settle for ordering a burger to go since my son and wife had already finished their meals. SMH... I seriously doubt I'll be returning to that establishment again.
A quick note: I worked at a fine dining establishment, the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville, back in the early 80s, wearing many hats from Food & Beverage Manager to waiter and maître d'. Eventually, I left the restaurant industry for IT—the pay was better, ha!
Regarding Ruby Tuesday (RT), I wonder if they send a chef or cook to their franchise locations when they add new menu items. Do they train the staff on how to prepare these new dishes properly? Do they ensure that all staff members taste the food and evaluate its presentation? My recent experience suggests otherwise.
I'm not looking to disparage the Murfreesboro Road location, but I believe that every aspect of service to customers starts with upper management. Unfortunately, my recent visit left me disappointed, particularly with their pork dishes. That's why I won't...
Read moreArrived and was told 25 mins, then sat and waited about 30. Party of 3 across from us stated they had waited an hour and were forgotten about. The hosts were very friendly and reassuring, tell us about the large parties that came in and set them back. Trying to catch up from those with only 3 servers on staff, I get where their coming from, they're doing all the can. We didn't mind a wait but ended up waiting the time we were told. The host even came by and apologized again for a wait and offered us both a salad bar on the house, very sweet. We order the loaded fries and they tasted great, the seasoning/spice was nice. I got the chicken Mac and cheese and it was alright. I wouldn't order it again though. The chicken tasted great, just the Mac and cheese part was really thick and heavy making it hard to eat and like. My dinner guest had a steak and potato, she ended up taking most of the steak home to her dogs. She said it was cooked well, but tasted gritty. We also shared some sweet potatoe fries that were awesome. The atmosphere hasn't changed at all, still the same Ole ruby Tuesday like we remember. Cleanliness could be managed a little better, seemed a tad dusty and sticky in some areas. Overall the host made the visit worth it and we would come back for a visit another time; especially to grab a salad bar you can never go...
