Beautiful lookout of Mississippi River. Has a lock bridge in which sign is completely ignored. ๐ there is a visitor's center at the top of the hill. It gives the visitor a history of Natchez which is fascinating in regards to race relations of the past 100 years. It shows the history of the native people and agricultural development in the area. The view of the Mississippi is incredible on the size when at the river's edge. There is also a casino near this walking trail which we didn't have time to visit. However, What I found most interesting is the plant life surrounding the area. Like the invasion of the kudzu plant. I never knew this plant was edible and not a native plant but was introduced from another country. The visitors center also has a inclosed lookout walkway which you can view the river and surrounding area from high above the rivers edge. The staff are very friendly and has a gift shop inside. They also have guided tours from the visitor center. This location is only minutes from downtown where you can tour the old houses in Natchez that date back to the 1800's. I would highly recommend this as a first stop on your trip. Just across the bridge from the west and turn left. Going to the walking trail just follow the road down hill right to the edge...
