We spent the night here a week ago. Highly recommend. What a beautiful place. Lee greeted us at the door, showed us our room and the common area, then invited us to join the tour later that day. Our room was lovely and immaculate. Very comfortable bed, pillows and linens. Perfect place to relax. The common area had comfortable furniture, lots of books, and a generous supply of snacks (sweet and savory) and drinks. The grounds are a bit of paradise. Lee was very kind, knowledgeable and a fantastic host. A few minutes after learning we were going to drive the Natchez Trace, Lee provided some literature on the Trace that the visitor's center on the Trace didn't have. He pays attention to everything and does what he can to make it better for you. This is southern hospitality. The breakfast at the Natchez Coffee Co. was delicious. If you get a chance to take a tour of the home, do it. Lee gave the tour - lots of history, fantastic antiques and stories! Choctaw Hall is walking distance to pretty much everything we wanted to see in Natchez. Make sure you walk around the surrounding neighborhood. Hoping to return again and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Thank you Lee and David - may you continue to have a happy and prosperous...
Read moreWe spend a lovely couple of nights at Choctaw Hall - this was a stop-off on our trip between Memphis and New Orleans and we are glad we stayed 2 nights as it gave us a chance to really relax and enjoy Natchez. Lee and David were excellent hosts - we thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the property and seeing the amazing collection of antiques. The room was very comfortable - the four rooms are situated around a central common area with access to free coffee, tea, soft drinks and snacks with a TV in this area for common use. We also had use of a washer and dryer in our room which was very useful at the stage of our trip. Natchez is lovely with so many beautiful and well maintained properties (I am very pleased we chose it over Vicksburg where we stopped briefly). Breakfast vouchers are provided which were for Natchez Coffee Co and Monmouth Inn. We ate dinner in Natchez Brewing Company and Magnolia Grill. The latter is a short 10 minute walk from the hotel, also beside the Under The Hill saloon where we viewed a fantastic sunset. Very pleased we chose Choctaw Hall...
Read moreI have stayed in many B&Bs but never have felt more at home than at Choctaw. David and Lee make you feel like old friends instead of paying guests. From escorting you through their home and sharing their treasures to making sure you feel like an honored guest – this is the kind of place you regret leaving, and look forward to returning. The location, right in the heart of Natchez, is within walking distance of the downtown restaurants. You can eat, drink and walk back to Choctaw along some of the most beautiful streets in the South. We were given a breakfast voucher for the Castle restaurant at Dunleith, so we had the experience of two accommodations for the price of one. If you prefer coffee as they make it in any major city, Steam Punk Coffee Roasters is a short walk from the house. The room was spacious, clean with a very large bathroom. The room opens onto a large sitting room with refreshments and snacks for guests. Later in the evening we went outside and enjoyed the house garden which can be accessed from the...
