American Cemetery — Local services in Natchitoches

The American Cemetery is a major Historic spot in the town of Natchitoches. It is believed to be the actual location of the original Fort St. Jean Baptiste. It is more than a cemetery. It is an historic archaeological site in it's own right. Many of the oldest graves are naturally succumbing to age and erosion. Came here on a perfectly gloomy, drizzly day. I have no idea where the parking lot is, so I just randomly parked and started walking.

The history here was so incredible to see. Seeing graves from soldiers of the revolutionary war was amazing to me. Some graves so old the engravings have worn off with time.
