It's beautiful! The riverfront has so many things to do. The Beau Jardin garden area, the water activities and the Delta Queen paddle boat tours are just a few of the things to do on the river. A mere walk, literally up the steps, is shopping, shopping, shopping, great food and lots more shopping. You can take a break sitting back sipping some sweet southern tea or a refreshing cocktail then enjoy more shopping! Did I mention the historical areas throughout Natchitoches? Not just the Riverwalk area but the entire area, from downtown to the surrounding communities, Natchitoches' history runs deep! The riverfront was decorated so beautifully, food vendors were present, great live music and the fireworks display was second to none. Santa was there too!! Armbands are $10 for Riverfront entrance and tickets for food are $1 each. Tickets aren't purchased with armbands. They have a couple of machines to buy the tickets. Β Β Β Read moreThe Christmas Lights Festival is a must see. I went on the day of the Christmas Parade. The parade was at least 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours and had bands, unique floats, and entertainment. They throw candy and beads. The shops on the riverfront provide fun shopping along with vendors set up just off the main road. The fireworks start promptly at 6.
