I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Jared Jewelry recently, and my experience was made truly exceptional by the outstanding service of Laura Estrada. From the moment I stepped into the store, Laura's warm and welcoming demeanor instantly put me at ease.    Read moreThe positive: On 7/03/18, I stopped by Jareds and was helped out by Robert who provided great customer service and helped me pick out a beautiful ring for my soon to be fiancé. However, the ring was a size 7 and I was certain my girlfriend was a size 8. I asked Robert if he could please make an effort to get the ring resized by that same day since my gf and I were scheduled to catch a plane early the next day. To my relief, Jareds was able to resize just before closing time that same day. I left a happy customer with a size 8 ring that day.
My gf and I ended up getting engaged during our vacation trip. The only problem was that the ring was too big. Turns out my gf was not a size 8 after all.
The negative: Upon returning from our vacation, my fiancé and I stopped by Jareds on 7/13/18. We were greeted by an employee that did not provide good customer service. She seemed to be in a hurry the entire time and both my fiancé and I felt rushed. Anyhow, we explained we were there to resize the ring becaue it was too big. The employee made it seem as if it should have been obvious to me that a size 8 is way too big for a girl. She then had my fiancé try out different sizes and it turned out she was a size 7. Even during the ring sizing, she was very impatient and quick to suggest that without a doubt my fiancé was a size 7. She was however, very patient and detailed when examining the ring and pointing out the imperfections of the diamond to us. We were told the resizing on the ring would get done by the next day.
On 7/14/18 we returned to Jareds. We were told our ring was ready. My fiancé tried on the ring and it seemed to fit ok. While I was fnishing up the ring insurance paperwork, my fiancé noticed that the diamond was chipped. The employee at the moment confirmed that there was a chip. A second employee came over to verify the chip. Even the employee that works in the diamond shop area was consulted. We were told a new diamond would be ordered to replace the chipped one.
Our promise date on our new diamond is 9/21/2018. Yes, my gf who already posted photos of our engagement all over social media, has to now wait over 2 months to wear her ring. Most if not all "congratulations on your engagement" are usually followed by "OMG girl let me see your ring." There is no ring. Not even a loaner ring. Just a finger and a look of disappointmen.
Also, considering the documentation that takes place on a diamonds condition prior to any adjustment, it's hard to believe that Jareds was about to let us walk out of the store without telling us about the chipped diamond. In all honesty, I can't even remember if we received an apology.
We were told Jareds always strives to find a similar or better quality diamond than the one being replaced. I'll update this post next month when we receive our similar or better...
   Read moreMy spouse and I came to Jared's in National City for our 6 month check up for our engagement ring and wedding band. We noticed that the pandora section they have in the store was 50% off on some charms and bracelets and decided to stick around. Laura was the salesperson that was helping us with our ring inspection and helped us with our search of some pandora charms which took an extremely long time. After we waited for her to help us for a while, she left us hanging saying she was going to help another client. We waited for another 30 minutes and she finally helped us. I picked 4 charms to purchase. During this time, she apologized for taking so long and said it wasn't her department. We were ready to checkout. As she rang us up she says she had to go on a lunch break and left us with a gentleman named Eric. He continued to ring us up and in the end said the charms were not 50% off. I was confused... Laura had just said they were and that's why my husband and I decided to wait for her and shop around. I searched on my phone and the pandora website HAD the charms 50% off!!!! However, Eric said he couldn't overwrite the system. I asked to speak to a manager and was told she was helping another costumer. I decided to wait some more to speak to her although at that point it was such a waste of time...and as some of you may agree, time is money. We waited for 10 minutes and the manager didn't even have the adoutisy to apologize or address us. 10 minutes later, she comes to us and says there's really nothing they can do. She asked for me to show her the charms on my phone and thought it was ridiculous (hello, I can just buy them online...and I will). At that point, they werent going to do anything about the situation. I asked Minerva (floor supervisor) for costumer service phone number and left. Worse costumer service I've ever experienced in a jewlery store!! We will NEVER purchase at Jared's again.
Update: Called costumer service number and it was the wrong number! Looked for CORRECT number online. Spoke to a very polite lady who said she would send message to district manager for that store. Hope they get some management going on at that store. It is evident no one runs...
