I took my 15-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter to volunteer at Stein Family Farm, it was genuinely an amazing experience. The true gem was grounds-keeper and curator-in-residence Chris Pro. This guy is an encyclopedia of San Diego history! He graciously took the time to show us around the farm and the historic residence. He gave so much backstory that he got my kids reading about San Diego history afterwards, it was a great bonding experience we hope to continue.
