This gym is decent as far as gyms go. They have most equipment I'm looking for. What is annoying is that at the Beaumont location they keep hip abduction/adduction machines in the women's only area. I asked why, and they responded that the machines weren't "family friendly" (which is news to me that a machine can carry such a connotation)... When training legs my fiance and I both like to use these machines, but he's not allowed to, doesn't seem fair. Also, the taller lady with dark curly hair irritates me. She made a point to flag me down embarrassingly when I entered the gym for the 2nd time in 5 minutes asking if I scanned in. I had made the person at the receptionist desk aware, but she felt it was necessary to finally spring up from her desk so excited and make a scene. I relocated recently and was looking for a home gym. I went to Powerhouse and had the worse experience. I had already joined them through my company but they refused to allow me to work out until they verbally spoke with HR with my company... even though they had my application on file. The lady questioned me (more like interrogated) as if I was being deceitful about my employment there. She wouldn't even allow me to pay for a days pass until everything was straightened out. Joined the gym because friends where there was told if i moved to bring in proof and they would cancel the membership. Got relocated so I took them proof and signed there paperwork. Got a call today from Debbie saying I owed them money and they where going to turn it against my credit. I advised them I had done what I was suppose to do. And she said they didn't have paperwork but the would look again. So I sent them the proof of address change I had back in June.
