Just played last week and was a terrible experience. Price was way too much for a course in this shape and location.
Started off with very unwelcoming service by HS/College kids running the pro shop. Absolute lack of friendliness/customer service. Was told we needed to wait over 90 min for a tee time despite numerous opportunities to walk on between others teeing off. I’ve worked at pro shops in much bigger towns and much busier courses and was able to do that. No idea why they needed 18 min between tee offs.
Next was pricing. $40 to drive this course was insane. This is a $15-$20 course (with cart) tops.
Their holes are poorly laid out and not a single golf app has the correct information/lay out. I had to combine info from 4 different apps plus the scorecard to even begin to get an idea of where I’m supposed to go.
Next, they had workers all over the course on a weekend! Specifically mowers. Out of 18 holes, only three times did we not have a mower on the hole or a marshal harass us. I have no idea what they were mowing because the fairways and roughs were terrible. Most of the rough and some of the fairways were just dirt. What was grass just looked like your neighbors yard: dandelions, crabgrass and all. Also why are you mowing on a weekend??!! Do that during the week! This course is not busy. No idea why three mowers were going and taking so long. We were constantly waiting on or hitting past mowers.
When we weren’t messing with mowers, we had a marshal whizzing by. We waited on two foursomes and still played less than 4 hrs. No idea why the marshal felt compelled to constantly come up to us while teeing off then leaving without saying anything. He sure wasn’t enforcing tee times so not sure what his deal was. But it added to the annoyance for sure.
Other than spending time with my family, there was absolutely nothing positive to say about this course. The attitudes of the employees, the condition of the course, the size/consistency of the greens, and the absurd number of distractions made this course one to forget. I could get my money back and still have paid too much for this course.
Do yourselves a favor and spend the same amount of money and go to Pea Ridge or literally...
Read moreNew owners took over in March , they have big plans to revive greens! One of the best golf courses around as far as beautiful lay out. Designed by professional golf course designer on front nine . Back nine winds through trees and Ozark country fairways. Truly a good golf course , friendly people . Golf course has a natural driving range with great prices! .
I do recommend putting some artificial driving areas behind natural and rotate like highlands does in bell vista to keep grass from to much damage. I believe they do one week artificial driving spots and put natural area not open and then next week they open natural area to be hit on , this will allows grass to heal. But great driving range !
Also, place has chipping green and putting green and amazing prices on memberships! Can’t wait for them to revive some of the damaged greens it will be one of the best golf courses around. They even have a beer wagon that comes around now ! What more can you ask for !
I like to add I play a lot of golf in area and got a membership here, value is amazing , this is 18 hole course I walk and play and for 46 a month you can beat that in all the area ! For all the amenities you get from this course . Driving range, chipping range , putting range, beer wagon and amazing scenery , not to mention the Friendly people there can’t beat it . They also have golf cart memberships as well. Most courses don’t even offer that around the area . Not to mention the great monthly payments which I love it doesn’t break my golf budget for the whole year all at once !!! Excited to see all you guys accomplish, keep...
Read moreEven for a public course, it was terrible. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason as to how they booked tee-times or if it even mattered. No marshal to set things off, people were just going whenever they felt like it, which made play extremely slow. At the turn, they let a group of 4 (2 adults-2 kids) start at hole 10 right in front of us and we were already waiting because of 2 groups of 5 that were playing very slow. So while they all going off we decide to get a drink and snack, we walk in the clubhouse, the girl working the counter is practically sleeping and less than enthused about having to interact. There is 1 hot dog on the griller and 0 buns, mind you this is around noon. (She brings out more, but not until asked) It's like take some incentive. The greens are almost all in a poor state of repair, you have to put through large dead spots. The cart we had would barely make it up an incline. Everything seemed to be poorly kept. For the price they charge to play here it should have been a much better experience. If you want to play a nice and well kept public course, go to Joplin...
