Anchor Bay Bike Shop — Local services in New Baltimore

I decided to stop by the bike shop to get my bike checked out since the gears weren't shifting properly, and I could not figure out the issue. Rich and Chris, the owners, were both there when I arrived. Expecting to be told they would check it out and call me in a few days, they hoisted the bike onto the repair rack and had it fixed in just five minutes! They even took the time to tune up the brakes for me.

What truly stood out was witnessing how they interacted with a group of young kids browsing for new bikes. They treated each of them with incredible respect and enthusiasm, even though their parents weren’t around. It was great to see such genuine care for the next generation of cyclists! In the last month I bought 2 Giant Escape bikes from here. They are great.

Unfortunately I did not get to keep either of them as my niece and nephew have annexed them as their first good multi-speed bikes. I didn't get to ride the first one more then 100 feet. After pulling it out of my car, I turned around to close it. When I turned back it was half way down the block with one of my nephews. All I got to do was a quick safety check before they began fighting over it.

At least I got to ride the second one 50 miles before my nephew saw. Since it is his favorite color and it gets him exercising, I ended up surrendering it.

With these I can ride the whole Macomb Orchard Trail with them without them complaining...

The first thing I would like to address is the turn around was very quick. I dropped my bike off in the morning and it was ready by the afternoon. That is not common in metro Detroit so I do give them credit for that.

The work on the bike was decent. The only complaint I have about that is they didn't test ride it before calling me to pick it up. luckily I was going to ride the bike home so I caught the skipping of the chain immediately, went back inside and they fixed what was wrong. Not without charging another $5 for service though.

Overall I would say quick turnaround but high prices, and test ride your bike out in the parking lot before...
