Anchor Bay Pit Stop Diner — Restaurant in New Baltimore

I was not having a good day...ran a couple errands; stopped to drop something off to a friend, realized I had taken fasting to a new level 😯 and was feeling a tad "off". I asked her to recommend a spot where I could get waited on quickly....so here I am. Walking into the door was like a portal trip to #Back2TheFuture. What a cute little diner! Staff and customers were all smiling and clearly enjoying themselves! People at different tables were even interacting! They actually have a counter with red stools, so of course I had to sit there! Allie was #QuickDrawMcGriddle with the menu and coffee was within reach in minutes (the GET it- see sign). The weather is incredibly hot, but the first thing that I saw on the menu was that they have egg lemon rice soup (Avgolemono); but tabling that for now ♨️. The strawberry spinach salad was excellent. A gr8 portion, plenty of chicken and feta. I left the tomato and onion off. I asked for the dressing on the side, and Allie was kind enough to bring me three containers, which was more than enough. The spinach was crisp and fresh. There is a side of pita. I don't "do" gluten, but they have GF substitutes, as well. The coffee was excellent, and they kept my cup full. It was really nice chatting with Amanda, the manager. Super friendly and professional; it was cool to have her show interest in a #EliteYelp event I attended a few days earlier at a nearby bakery. The food here is really good and I like ordering from them I usually go there thru the drive thru on my break anyone time I called ahead 10 minutes before my break expecting to only wait a few minutes once I got there and than I ended up having to pull ahead and further wait another 20 minutes for a grilled cheese sandwich, the next time I order I called 40 minutes ahead to try and have it prepared at 11, I was rudely told over the phone that they cannot take orders i have to call back 15 mins before I wanna pick up my food i proceed to tell her the story of last time how i called and had to wait and am on limited time for a break, and she tells me there’s nothing she can do about it I’ve worked in multiple resteraunts my entire life and I know your able to put the ticket aside and start it whenever u want to have it ready at that time so for them to say that was poor customer service especially for being such a long lasting restaurant you’d be able to take an order ahead of time just saying , was very...

I had the pleasure of being served by Nicole almost every visit, and I can honestly say she made the entire dining experience exceptional. From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with a warm, genuine smile and an energy that immediately made us feel welcome. What truly stood out was her ability to balance professionalism with a down-to-earth friendliness—it felt like we were being taken care of by a close friend who just happens to be amazing at her job. The restaurant was busy, but Nicole never missed a beat. Our drinks were always full, our orders were exactly right, and she made every guest around us feel just as valued.
