Family Dollar — Local services in New Bedford

Things have gotten a LOT better in the past 6 months or so. Before; I would go in there with my young nieces & let's just say there was some music playing that was most definitely not appropriate for them to be hearing. Besides that; what bothered me the most is when I had a simple question on where something was; the response I got in return was very rude & disrespectful; she made me feel like I was "bothering" her. The icing on the cake was when I went to check out at the check out line; there was about 3 employees standing behind me just chatting & "hanging out laughing"; & I had to ask one of them if they could ring me up. She rolled her eyes at me & again made me feel as though I was "bothering" her; just because I kindly asked if someone could ring me up. I am very happy to say when I go in there now; my experiences have all been great. Whatever happened over the past 6 or so months have most definitely made a big difference in the right direction!! I hope they continue to hire people who as kind & polite as the people who are working there now!! I highly recommend this store to anyone looking to save a lot of money & still get what you need! So many different choices!! I could keep looking all day! The hours are also wonderful; especially for the people who get out of work late but still need to go there!! I give it 1 star because I can walk there and they have things I need when I can't get a ride elsewhere. MOST of the female workers have HORRIBLE and EXTREMELY RUDE ATTITUDES!!! I've been chastised for having to do a return multiple times. It was like they were aggravated that they actually had to do sum work. There was 1 women there that outright called me a liar Infront of the whole store. I was mortified. If it weren't for my sunglasses I would have cried from embarrassment. Mind you, I spend good $$ there and I shop there ALOT cuz it's in walking distance. Ive seen them on their phones hiding in the back of aisles so they don't have to work! This place is crazy! It's kids trying to "run" a store. I've had them check me out at the register and not even pay any attention cuz they were too busy.... Speaking in another language amongst, which I feel is so rude! The help in this store is sad. Don't even bother to come here. I witnessed this young lady take her sweet ol' time as a gentleman waited at the counter for a few minutes. He was looking around and she can't even say I'll be right there sir. She gets to the counter with a ticked off at the world face and can't even say hello and how are you! The other girls putting up stock had big boxes everywhere! Blocking isles so u couldn't even walk down there. That's common sense. Why would they do that? It's bad enough the isles are so narrow and only one carriage can go down at a time. I can't stand workers that aren't pleasant. The management should be enforcing how important it is.
