This County/city is by far the most unreasonable to work with and gladly fine homeowners just to show their position of power. They stopped a roofing job for no permit. Only required if plywood is changed, we had to change the plywood. When this happens the easiest way to get a permit in time to finish the roof is to do an after the fact inspection. While we were working they stopped the job and said we needed a permit. We went to their permit office and they said we need to go to PG first. When we went to PG they said finish the roof and come back when you have all the documents. To get this permit approved can take several days to weeks. Inspector Daye said he doesn’t care how long the permit takes that we need to keep the house unfinished until the permit comes back. I’m not and would not expect anyone to leave a roof open to the weather when all they have to do is check hurricane clips. Tarps are fine but not a guaranteed watertight solution.They will fine you and think it’s amusing. When I spoke to him he was mocking the homeowner for being concerned about the fine. The City of New Carrollton is so unprofessional and ridiculous. They wanted to cut a tree in our cul-de-sac down and gave no notice whatsoever. Instead of simply making a flyer or mailing us a notice to not park under that tree during a certain time, they want to wake working class folk up by banging on front doors. They made me late to work because they blocked my driveway and forced me to move my roommate's car. Even though I was in MY car backing out about to go to work!!! I had to turn my car off, go inside, search for keys and move someone else's car. Then they wanna block the only other parking space with their truck. You want me to move, but wanna block the only spot I have???
