I highly DO NOT recommend this salon.......Over the past month I have contemplated on writing this review. Today I have decided to write a review regarding Lilis Dominican hair salon in Lanham Maryland. I normally attend this salon for a wet set in the past year. In March, I decided to allow the owner for the first time to put chemicals in my hair. Lily, the owner offered to do a perm and semi color, which I thought was a rinse, in my hair. I normally get a color and a rinse with no problem. However, she used a Paul Mitchell Demi semi permanent rinse color in my hair along with affirm relaxer,. A week later my hair started coming out in Clumps. As you can imagine I was literally in tears. Prior to going to her salon my hair was in good condition. It did shed a little but it never ever came out in clumps. I was so upset I called her and told her what happened. She told me to come up to the shop that same day and she treated my hair with a reconstructor shampoo as well as steam, Conditioner And protein. At this point I had expected her to treat my hair for the next months with no charge until my hair is back to normal. She only treated my hair twice with no charge And then wanted to follow up with charging me for future visits to treat my hair. How dare you want to charge me for something that you did by damaging and over processing my hair. Now I have to pay someone else to take care of my hair and get it back to where it supposed to be.Today my hair still breaks off from the severe damage that she has done to my hair. I am very very disappointed in a person who is expected to be knowledgeable of properly caring for a customers hair but has over processed and damaged my hair immensely. Now I have to wait for my hair to grow back which will take some time. Very very upsetting. Beware of getting your hair done at Lilis Dominican Hair salon if you want to keep it all on your head.
I give this salon a terrible rating. I will never ever go back there and...
Read moreYesterday I called the salon spoke directly to the owner lili. I told her I wanted to make an appt to come in for micro links install which she’s done for me more than 6 times. Most recently in March 2021. Lili told me come at 12:30 pm which I did and was immediately sent to the wash bowl to get started. I brung the same hair I used in March of 2021. Recently I started going to the gym and prior I did not which promoted me to ask lili to leave hair out on the sides so I could put it in a ponytail. Normally I pay $150 and I always been fine with that. Yesterday I waited until lili serviced clients who came in before me and after me due to my install taking more time (this is what I am assuming as she she not call for me after my dryer stopped) I did not complain not once. I stayed by the dryer she called me to get chair at 2:20 pm and went to the back to take a couple bites of her lunch as the shop was busy etc still I did not say anything once I was finished completely hair installed etc I am now walking to the register it is 4:32 she says the total today is $275 I said excuse me she said yes because you have more hair installed this time I said no I don’t this is the and hair from March and I never pay more then $150 after a few minutes of back and fourth I was upset but tired after such a long day in the salon I also did not eat and she was airway finished I don’t see why my hair is 100% of the $150 but because I asked to have it installed in a way to put it up in a ponytail it jumped to $275 she could not explain why that’s $125 more than normal and if I added $25 more I could have gittern another install because my normal Price is $159 I’m so over stylist jumping prices I’m a regular costumer but after this I’m not going back I waited long time in between clients etc just to be...
Read moreI had been going to this salon for 2-3 years. I would only get a blowout like once per month. I only had one bad hair experience with one of the stylist. Other than that all the other stylists did my hair very nicely and it held very long. I have natural hair and a few times I did have to continue to tell them how to deal with my hair when shampooing it. And the shampoo person and the owner we're trying to tell me the opposite of what I know about how to healthily deal with my hair. They ended up doing as I requested. I also had to bring my own brush. The last time I went there approximately two weeks ago, they did what they always do and that is take time to comb my hair out with conditioner in it prior to the shampoo. My hair gets tangled and can loc up if it's not brushed through with conditioner and co-washed. The shampoo person did not know how to work with natural hair. I tried to tell/show her how it would be easier with conditioner and the brush I brought. She still struggled with it. Then when I went to go pay at the end, the owner charged me an extra $15. She had never done this before. Also she should have told me this at the shampoo bowl. I would have gotten up and went to the bathroom and brushed my own hair out. I even questioned the owner about this at the register and she saw no problem with how she did business. Professionally you should tell someone if you're going to charge them extra, prior to doing the service. So I won't...
