My experience at this place was nothing short of ridiculous. First, the front desk representative was rude and inattentive. He was not enthusiastic about new customers entering the hotel to stay. In this business, you are the face of your company. I was not expecting a parade, but if you do not welcome others in a warm, inviting manner then you may as well work someplace else. No one is going to recommend, nor return to an establishment that acts as if they do not want to be bothered.
Second, I understand the need to verify customers identity, but this "simple hotel" exceeded the necessary requirements to check into a hotel. Given the 2-star rating, I would think that an ID and credit card would be more than adequate. However, the front desk continuously asked for multiple forms of identification without indicating WHY. It was quite unsettling.
Which brings me to the third point. The room key did not work. After multiple attempts, my friend and I decided to return to the front desk and ask that the key issue be addressed. Before we could even turn around completely, a security guard (whom we saw downstairs at the hotel entrance) was behind us asking if everything was ok. I appreciated the concern, however I was puzzled as to why he had followed us upstairs. When we got back downstairs, I found that NONE of the vending machines worked. Again- another minor occurrence, but it still bothered me because there was NOTHING in the room. The damned thing even stole my money.
Fourth, (about the room) upon successfully entering, the room was not to our taste. The TV was blurry, the floor was dirty, and the bed was very uncomfortable. I woke up the next morning feeling as if I were wearing a neckbrace. Not to mention the smell of marijuana. The nerve of this hotel to have making a reservation so tedious is amusing. Then again, after the experience I had I could see why they go the extra mile. The area itself is sketchy. If I had any idea that this would happen, I would have gone someplace else. It's a good thing that adjusting the room temperature wasn't as difficult as checking in, because I have never felt so close to being in hell as I did during my stay in this room. Unbeknownst to me, the heat was set to 90. I don't know who or why anyone would do this, but I digress.
Fifth, the maids at this place are incredibly rude and unprofessional. Constantly knocking on the door after being answered, attempting to OPEN the door while people are inside of the room, and getting an attitude when they aren't let in is only a short example of how bad the service is. Who's to say that I or my friend weren't fully clothed? There is no privacy here at all. There are plenty of polite ways to do business, and this hotel's staff needs to be taught lessons.
Lastly, checking out was as frustrating as checking in. The front desk representative was nicer this time, yet changed her tone when informing us that the deposit for the room would not be released until after she personally checked it out first. I have never heard such a thing and I have stayed in many hotels. If people actually trash this hotel as much as they claim, it should not be open in this location.
Long story short, stay away from this place unless you have no...
Read moreMe n my daughters were traveling to NY from Florida on 7/13/2016. We drove for over 10 hours and were exhausted. We wanted to get a room. We looked all over and everyone was booked. We finally found this Days Inn at about 3 in the morning on 7/14/2016 n they had a vacancy n looked semi decent even though it was not in a great area. It was pricey at $110 plus tax for a few hours of sleep, but we were so tired and traveling with a 3 yr old to boot so I relented. I chose a NON SMOKING room and we got our things n went up to the room. Our room was on the 3rd floor so we got on the elevator and headed up to the room. As we were walking down the hallway, the smell of pot was pretty obvious. I blew it off and just wanted to get in our room. When I got in the room, it smelled of cigarette smoke. I thought maybe it was seeping thru the wall of the next room so again, I blew it off. We began to settle in and one of my daughters moved the mattress back a bit to access the outlet so she could charge her phone. She found an open and half used tube of KY Jelly! I was angry! I called down n reported it and all they could do was apologize and ensure me the rooms n sheets were clean. I figured that maybe it was just overlooked while being cleaned since it was behind the bed. Again, I was ready to blow it off cuz we were all so tired. One of my other daughters wanted to take a quick shower and wash up the baby so she turned on the shower and got in. She then called to me to hurry up and come into the bathroom. She looked up and said "what is that" I looked and it was a used and dirty wash cloth with pubic hairs all over it!! Now I flipping had it!! I called down to the lobby and demanded another room! They did accommodate me with apologies, but we were so disgusted and grossed out! We got into the new room and the air wasn't on so it was pretty warm and the smell of cigarette smoke was 10xs worse in this room. 2 of us have really bad allergies n cigarettes aggravate them pretty bad plus it's bad to breathe in anyway. At this point we just wanted to sleep and get out as early as we could. We checked out about 9:30 am. For $110/ $124 with tax, for about 6 hours was way too high to pay especially for the disgusting experience we had! I feel we were price gouged because all the other hotels were booked for miles around for whatever was going on around there and because online the prices were a lot cheaper for the exact room we got. To not even discount me for finding the disgusting things that me and my girls had to deal with is unacceptable! I wouldn't have even clicked on 1 star but I had to to get to leave my review. This place needs the health department to check it out!! Totally disgusting place with obvious questionable guests. Also my last name is Clark not Jewell like...
Read moreBeware! This hotel has bugs! This is a very low budget hotel. You have to pay when you check in instead of when you check out. The elevator was out of order. I booked two rooms for two nights. Both rooms were dirty and poorly taken care of (outlets and fire alarm falling out of wall, dusty everywhere, dirty lamp shades, holes in blanket, mattress foundation falling apart to name a few). The decor was very old and out dated. The bed was hard. The sheets where stained and very old. The only use flat sheets to cover the bed. The room smelled nasty. I asked for new sheets and they were dirty and old as the ones on my bed. The other room was the same as the first only this room had bugs! We were there less than 2 hours and wanted to leave. They would not refund our money (their reason was because we spent more than 30 minutes in the room before we voiced our complaints) and we spent two hours debating this matter with 2 ill-mannered and disrespectful clerks. Since they told us to speak with their General Manager we had them change our room. The new room sheets and pillow cases were also dirty. The desk clerk took me into the storage room to get new sheets and pillow cases. We went through at least 10 sets before finding one without stains. The General manager came in at 10am and left before 12pm for the day. We had somewhere to be by the time she came so we called to set up a meeting. We called multiple times within an hour and she did not answer even though the clerk said she was there. We rushed back from where we where to catch her before checkout time and she was already gone. We had the clerk call her. I spoke to her on the phone and explained what happened and about the bugs. She told me her hotel has no bugs and because we stayed more than 5 minutes (this is not a mistype she said 5 minutes) in the room that we will not get a refund. My mom had a cup full of the bugs she collected from her room and showed the clerk who verified to the GM. We also went back to the room with the Head of Housekeeping and she with her own eyes seen the bugs in the room. The GM was nasty and only gave us 10% off the room with the bugs! This was a Mother's Day trip and my poor mother was stressed out. Beware...
