Worst hospital. My dad was taken here by ambulance a few weeks ago because he couldn't breathe. They said he had Covid and for anyone that doesn't understand that he had a bad case of pneumonia that if treated "correctly" the success rate is good. They told me at first he was staying 5 days then 2 days later discharged him saying he was great. Let me tell you he ASKED to stay another day because he still couldn't breathe right and they wouldn't let him. Few days later he returned. We made the biggest mistake by going back to this hospital. I should have had him flown to Butler that first day. That night I drove up there to see him he wasn't doing well I stayed for the hour they let you and I left. In the middle of the night I got a call from the hospital that he was either going to die or needed a ventilator. As soon as I could go up that morning I did he was moved to ICU. I stayed 2 hours till they wanted me to go. I mostly watched him sleep, but he would wake up for a few minutes here and there. The next day I returned and he was doing so much better. He hadn't ate for 2 days and they only allowed him to have jello and lemonade. All he wanted was a cup of coffee. I stayed and hour and a half till he was tired. My brother was coming to see him Today so he wanted rest. I left him in good condition, with a full beard. Few hours later I get a call he may not make it. I returned and he can't breathe, can't talk, no beard(he had that beard all my life besides 1 time) is gone and they have him tied down to the bed. He wanted the mask they had on removed so I had them remove it and they untied his hands. He asked me if I had something so I could cut the bands off his hands. I cried because I didn't. At this point he was fighting for his life so hard and I didn't even know if they had oxygen going into his face. I had no idea what drugs they had gave him and what they did to him. He was sure they were trying to take his life. I had my mom call up and try to get him moved to Butler because we were running out of time. 30 minutes later they come back with sorry the ICU beds are full everywhere. I don't even think they called. I believed my dad that they were trying to take his life. I held his hand tight and kept telling him I loved him. The nurses were cold, mean and rude. They talked to me like I was a kid and told me that I needed to leave or they were going to have me removed. I said no and if I had to I was going down to the family waiting room. They told me I couldn't that I had to leave and had to go now it was 9:15 pm. I stayed about 10 more minutes because I knew when they made me walk out that door I would not see my Dad alive again. I knew I would never hear his voice or get to touch his face or hold his hand again. These people are cold with no heart. I called for a ride because I couldn't drive home in my condition. When I arrived at my parents house they called my mom and told her that he was gone and asked if we wanted to come back up. The time of death that they put was when I was still sitting in the parking lot waiting for a ride. I f I knew how to sue these people I would, Because my dad never got the help he needed. They gave him the same Dr. the last day in ICU that sent him home after 2 days. How do I know he didn't give him medications that took his life. I couldn't do an autopsy because my Dad would not have wanted that. But please under no circumstance ever trust these people. I can't tell my Dad I love him to his face anymore, I can't share no more memories on this earth with him. I'm not a writer either just wanted to share with you what happened to my family. So be careful because if they say you have Covid and you end up in the hospital, this hospital is not going to try and treat you. All they want is the $34,000 they get to take your loved one from you. To the nurse that shaved my dads beard he always said that if anyone ever did that he would come back...

UPMC Jameson ED operates in a way that actively does harm to patients.
Here's an excellent example of how employees are the problem, but they make patients out to be: two employees who had their hands on their faces in the ED waiting room for so long I was astonished and eventually took a picture. On the other hand, myself and one other women waiting in that waiting room who were masked up were over and over looked at by passing staff like we stepped out of a time portal from a leper colony. Here are pictures of two signs from my patient room telling me they are required to wear them and patients recommended. No staff was seen wearing a mask at any time. IN THE ED. IN FEBRUARY. DURING THIS FLU/COLD SEASON (among others). How responsible are THEY for transmission from patient to patient?
It's medical director Peter, the only ✌️doctor✌️ in there was the only person making critical medical decisions with ZERO oversight or accountability. His goal is minimum effort to avoid malpractice and does not take any information such as patient medication information, current conditions, relevant family history, or consider anything outside his own ego. He also fills his notes with things he "told" the patient, but did not, and conveniently leaves out pertinent medical information that does not fit his narrative (and that would make his medical decisions look REALLY bad).
The pedestrian access here is non-existent and there are at least two ramps in different locations for wheelchairs with rumble-bumps for the sight-impaired to cross from the hospital across Wilmington, which they've never painted crosswalks on. What the actual. How is a person who can't see and comes to those ✌️crosswalk✌️ ramps going to know you haven't put the painted lines there, because the cars flying down Wilmington don't see them and if they do, think, "hey, there's a ramp. I bet that's supposed to be a crosswalk. " One of these leads to the pharmacy across the street.
They did have a new metal detector, bag check (none of which I got a clear answer to why), and I saw at least a half dozen security guards just in that department and I was only there 3.5 hours. That's not where patient money should be spent. Nor will it help with the LM problem-or why folks are protesting in every state capital. Yall are COMPLETELY missing the point. And no, none of that is a threat of physical violence. If you read that into it, you're still missing the point and blaming the wrong people. LOOK IN...
Read morejameson penitentiary is the worst hospital I’ve ever been in. Unfortunately I was active in sports and have had over fifteen injuries that required surgery. Plus stricken with colitis, this being the third instance that made me involved in this joke of a hospital. Four back surgeries in the last three years at Pittsburgh facilities which were great. I won’t let one bad hospital drag upmc down with it. I went in the ER on Tuesday night with a fever and stomach pains. As soon as treatment started, I could tell it was a bad hospital. They never asked for a list my medications so they could replace them during my stay. I let them know I wasn’t pleased how they treated me. I may have swore to get my point across which was totally uncalled for on my part but I was diagnosed with colitis, stomach ulcers and pneumonia. I apologized but since I swore they were going to keep me in the er overnight for punishment. That went over real well. I asked to be discharged at that point. They came in and told me if I didn’t come in when I did, I would be dead. Scare tactics!!! So I stayed to my detriment. They put me on the second floor. The nurses I had were terrible, and the other nurses don’t belong in the same group as these terrible nurses, thank God. There was good nurses there too. Thursday I asked to be discharged and 10 minutes later they had discharge papers for me to sign which were two pages of discharge papers. That’s it. Every other time I’ve been discharged it’s been an hours long process and I’ve been discharged a lot. So I’m waiting for a my neighbor to come pick me up. She came at 10 o’clock and was in the lobby and called me and said that they said I’m not there. And then she comes back at two and the same thing happens. I went out to the nurses station and said my rides been here the second time today and I need a wheelchair so I could be discharged. I was told the wheelchair would be coming. When it didn’t come and I asked about it, they said that’s not their department. So I knew I was not gonna get any help from them. Thank God a human being nurses aide walked past and I asked her for a walker so I could be discharged. She said why don’t you want a wheelchair? I told her they said it wasn’t their department to get a wheelchair. Five minutes later here comes the wheelchair. Thanks to that wonderful nurses aide whose name I don’t know but I will never forget her face. Thank you whoever you are. God bless America and the rest of...
