I am a African america female with natural hair. I have gone to ulta on 4 diffrent occasions to get a twist, flat iron, and Corn row style. I did not take the proper care of my hair. Full disclosure. I allowed it to get knotted up. So I was definitely in need of some TLC for my hair. However before I went to ulta I did have a curl pattern. My stylist name was Page. She seemed like a reasonable person . The first time I went to her I thought she was great. At the time I thought the flat iron was nice. I wore it for 2 weeks and then I washed my hair. The hair damage was very real. It was really stringy in the front. However, I really wanted to get my hair done because I liked being able to go some where and get my hair done. Also, you think having a hair salon in a beauty store would be nice. The braids and twist were ok. The twist didnt really last long because of the heat damage in the front they weren't able to lock in place. The last time I went was for a flat iron. I got it and it was ok until I washed my hair. My whole head is heat damage. I wore the hair flat iron for the week and did not use any additional heat. I am sad but it is a lesson learn. If you have natural hair dont flat iron yout hair unless you know what you are doing or have a stylist that is experience in doing natural hair. Heat protectant is very important. I would have never posted this review because I figured the heat damage was my fault. However, I meet someone with natural hair that went to see the same stylist. The girl who I meet takes very good care of her hair. She suffered heat damage after a salon visit to ULTA . She said she went there because it was cheap and close by her house. Lesson learnt...
Read moreI went there to get my make up done , and I was really excited I was ready to let the makeup artist take the wheel and I wasn’t going to give much input. I asked for a natural look with not too much makeup , she asked if I wanted to do anything with my eyebrows I said no. She told me she just needed to fill them in to give her something to wrk with. I said okay , we’ll i shouldn’t of because next thing I know I have two rectangles on my face , i was visibly upset and she assured me she was going to fix it , well long sorry short the more makeup she applied the less I liked it , I didn’t want to tell her I didn’t like it but I couldn’t sit there and let her continue, so I let her know and I could tell it offended her. I tried to be nice but she spoke like I didn’t know what I was saying. It was just too much makeup for me. Even when I asked her to change it she kept the one thing that I disliked the most which were the eye brows. I left her a tip dispite me not liking how it came out but I don’t think I’ll...
Read moreSuper disappointed in the fragrance department! I've been to this Ulta on multiple occasions. The testers are HORRIBLE ! The nozzles are missing so you can't spray a good majority. Also, the travel size perfumes are used as most testers . . .which most are empty. A product that stated "in stock" online..was in fact "out of stock" . It's just a mess. I hope they get it together because this Ulta is so convenient in the New Orleans area.
UPDATE
Since reviewing I've been back a few times. .they have put out a FEW (literally) testers. But they also disappears and BOOM back empty shelves. I've contact Ulta corporate office because I feel that the amount of theft is the reason us customers have to suffer. I know the staff are doing what they can. A security guard is present sometimes.. she's so sweet and helpful. But it's only so much a security guard can do. The NOPD response time is horrible. It's just a hot mess. .but we as customers deserve better service. Not sure how Ulta corporate is handling...
