I've put some time between when this situation took place and writing this review, as I've needed a lot of time to cool down. I didn't want to write something irrational. I've now had six months and it still makes me mad.
I have an antique wedding ring, that I greatly love. My first experience with Beth's took place because I caught my hand in a drawer and knocked the center stone out of my ring.
Beth looked at the ring and recommended replacing prongs, as the one was cracked from the hard hit it took with the drawer. I wasn't surprised, so I agreed. She sent the ring to the jeweler, and they had it for more than a month. I forget how long, but a good deal of time went by. At least six weeks. When the ring came back, a different stone was missing from the halo. Beth told me that as they hadn't marked it missing when I brought it in, they would replace it for free. The stone wasn't missing when I brought it in. I would have noticed. The jeweler later found it in the dust trap to the jewelry sander.
I'm not sure how long I had the ring back for, but I lightly bumped it on my steering wheel (I truly mean lightly) and the center stone seemed to have moved out of place again. Beth took a look at it and said that I had another cracked prong, which is insane because I'd had this ring for many years and the only problem I had was the drawer I caught it on. I let her send it for repair. She had it another month. When I got it back I mentioned to her that it appeared to have a new chunk of gold missing from the band. I'm anal. I look my ring over a lot. I noticed this mark immediately, like something gouged it. She told me they re-dipped it so I probably just saw it now as it was much shinier. I 100% disagree. She wanted to charge me $60 to fill it in. I said no and left.
3 weeks after I got the ring back, a diamond fell out of the band. I hadn't hit my ring on anything, the diamond was just gone.
Beth is nice. But I think the quality of work leaves something to be desired. She needs a new jeweler who pays a little more attention to what they're doing. I wish I'd never brought my ring to them to begin with because I think the new prongs they put in are cheaper and less stable than...
Read moreThis was my first experience with Beth's Jewelry Shop. I traveled 20 miles for my first appointment with Beth. My local jeweler had retired and my last jewelry purchase, 4 years ago, was with a big box jeweler. I was just not happy with the look and style of my ring. Beth is very creative! No style is ever out of the question. She can work with any piece of jewelry to uniquely fit your personality. She will contact several buyers to see that you get the best value and quality for the piece of jewelry you are going to be purchasing. Beth understands you are making a commitment, and will do everything possible to make sure you are satisfied. Her customers trust her opinions, and are confident knowing the final product will be something they will love to wear! She is not only a jeweler, but a local business owner for over 25 years, and a friend to all in her community. That was evident, as I watched customers come and go in her shop. She makes it a personal visit as well as business. She is an exceptional community member! I am now proud to call Beth my personal...
Read moreSo, I am down 1 Bulova watch after a battery swap here. I brought my Marine Star in for a new battery, and the o-ring was not correctly re-installed afterward. Needless to say, it flooded the moment it saw water again. I brought it back to the shop, where they dried it out and got it running, but the damage was done. The chlorine had eaten the face off the hands and stained the watch face. I was told that even though it says 100 meter water resistant, it was my fault for taking it into water. Mind you, this is after I've worn that same watch into the Gulf, the Carribean, the Atlantic, pools, lakes and down to 60 feet during my dive cert and never had an issue. The solution I was given was to simply toss my $350 watch aside and buy one of the Citizen watches that they sell. Not OK. If you make a mistake, at least correct it properly. Now I'm down my daily driver that had served me...
