Black Frost Distilling — Local services in New Ulm

A great spot for a drink or just hangout! I don't personally like the types of drinks that they serve here, but the team behind the counter helped me walk through the menu and described exactly everything I asked about. I never felt pressured to order a drink which I liked. It wasn't something I would drink normally or again for a while, but I will be back to be in the environment which is very laid back and welcoming. There is an area for games and lounging on a couch. So here's the deal. They get 5 stars for thier facilities. Really neat old building. 5 stars for service. Great staff. 5 stars for the drinks and beverage presentation. The accoustics of the building interior are terrible. Really hard to have a conversation. Really carries an echo. But here's the thing i hate to say. They aren't serving their own spirits......yet. The whole reason we went was to try their product. Its like going to a micro brew and getting served Bud and Miller lite. Thieir product is aging and it could be 2 years before its ready. Great relaxed industrial atmosphere. Staff was friendly and explained the Black Frost story. Fun to be able to see the distillery through large glass windows. The menu offers traditional, specialty and seasonal drinks. The sleigh ride sipper with apple brandy and apple cider and the sugar cookie made with black frost bourbon, butter pecan syrup and heavy cream were delicious.
