Another Amazing savings bites the dust to Amazon:
I have been shopping at Amazon Savings stores since I moved to NYC. The Amzing Savings on McDonald used to have a Mikvah. (Which many abused and treated like garbage. So this was taken away.) This store is quite large and always has the best simcha merchandise. Crafts for teachers. Stationary, journalism for all ages. I live getting my disposable to go cups. They come in great quantities with great prices! I would never walk out without spending less than $300. Usually $600-$1000 a month.
Unfortunately the staff are not at all friendly nor helpful. They are always in a bad mood. No mater how kind I am to any of them. It makes the shopping experience uneasy. I would shop more often if they didn't make the environment so uncomfortable. They never like that I fill two carts worth of teaching supplies. Even though I tip everyone for thier extra work. Trying to leave I'm treated as if I shoplifted. I give myself the allotted time for check out and being double checked. I try to pay in cash as they give my credit card extra security fraud check. Which would be appreciated if it didn't feel like I was being suspicious due to being a warehouse shopper, stocking up for my class, household items and for the holidays. Forget about asking a price for anything or if you find something random. This store is VERY disorganized when in comes to trying to figure out the prices on something. They really just kind of just pull a price out of nowhere near the value of the items I am asking about. So now I just avoid anything that isn't marked.
I have been to other locations and have not been treated like I do at this location. I would shop at the other locations if it weren't for this location being within blocks of my house. I used to shop here weekly. It changed to monthly. Then as the staff became more hostile I started only shopping on Amazon or any stores like Bingo on 13th/61st. Or Judica stores, Benny's educational toys, what I could find online with similar items. Or even bite the bullet and pay the higher prices in the Boropark neighborhood. I'll travel to the other stores more often. But in a dire pinch I will out of desperation still shop here for the excellent merchandise.
Although my last trip for Purim, they changed the prices at the register from the prices marked. Saying that they had just been raised that day. Because of the holiday rush they were so busy and the store was in complete chaos I just accepted what they said and thought to myself, you have lost my thousands of dollars as a customer to Amazon for this "price mark up at the register scam" I could understand if there was any drop of customer service in their work ethic. They obviously have no intention of customer retention and will soon lose their business to Amazon or neighboring competitors. This is not due to the pandemic. They have always had such a nasty attitude twords customers. Always lacking in customer service. Managers will speak down to you if you ask for any assistance. Why if you hate people so much work here? It seems that 75% of the customer services desperately despise the customers. Sading
A smile, helping hand, honesty can go a long way.
As I am doing my taxes for 2020, my receipts for educational purposes only are 4k. That's with a year with a pandemic, eliminating my shopping as much as possible and not including my personal spending for holiday holidays.
I may just be ONE customer. However your store, your company has now lost a big spender due to the lack of humanitarian assistance.
No one knows what someone else is going through and there is no reason to treat another human being the way they they have treated me. I've seen how they treat others, so this is not me alone. Many others speak ill of this store. Have resourced to Amazon etc.
It's very sad. I really did enjoy the items I would obtain from here. However this expensive relationship needs to come to a bittersweet terminationthat is probably not meaningful enough for Amazing savings McDonald has...
Read moreLove this store! Especially when you need bulk numbers of toys (think party favors or to make classroom gift baskets for students) this is the place to go! The merchandise is constantly rotating so you never know what you’re going to find. The toys and books are sometimes behind trends, but not all the time and for cheaper prices. They also have party wares - gift bags, paper/plastic plates and utensils, napkins, etc, as well as household items, some baby stuff, and clothing basics (underwear, socks.) They also carry school and craft supplies (scrapbooking, stickers) in both, name brand and off-brand. A big plus is that they’re located on a lot with parking, so you’re not driving all the way to Avenue M just to...
