I remember playing here as a kid befor they had the sprinklers and climbing stone when they still had 2 baseball fields and those good old concrete bleachers. As I walked thru it the other day and saw the new section of different playing areas i just thought about how happy i would have been had it been done when i was little and baseball fields were nothing but a huge grass waste but as i got older i realize how nice it was to watch the older kids play as a little boy. Now I hope the kids are happy there and it seems as if the newer generation doesn't play baseball as much and the extra playing areas is the better choice! Anyone remembers playing chess or checkers with the old men that used to sit there by the stone chess tables! Well they got rid of those tables as well. Besides who would let their kids play chess with old men anyway. These days an old man in the park is considered creepy and the good old days of trusting people is now over. It's sad that life changes just so fast and we dont even realize it till we miss it. If u have had some fun in there as a kid u should consider walking thru it on a nice sunny day where u can see the children screaming as they go down a slide or climb the rocks and it just brings back memories that get u thinking to thank the good Lord above, for we had...

Some cons: The new monkey bar/swinging ring-climbing structure. Really, who designed this? Did they ask children or parents for input? Did they review the design while they were installing it? A very short course monkey bars/swinging rings, awkwardly spaced and awkwardly placed--the steps to the climbing structure are right near the rings, putting kids who want to get on it at risk of being kicked in the head by the kids lucky enough to get a chance to use the rings (plus, the swinging kid has to watch out for the other kids). THIS CAN EASILY BE CORRECTED BY DETACHING THE STEPS, TURNING THEM IN THE OTHER DIRECTION, AND REATTACHING THEM, so that kids could enter from the other side. Also, the round structure connected to the rings is a total waste of space and the little steps connecting the poles are at a perfect height for people to trip over. THIS CAN EASILY BE CORRECTED BY PUTTING MORE RINGS OR MONKEY BARS BETWEEN THE POLES. And finally, the bathroom, despite all the money put into it, often...
