Nice modern decor, food is at best simple if not tasteless, coffee is horrible, service is terrible there are barely three people in the store all of them always in a bad mood especially the person taking the orders, and the pizza guy they all look like they hate their job and every customer is just a pain for them, and I had to wait 25 minutes to get a pizza. The owner is never there just pops in from time to time but there's no one to talk to if you have anything to complain. Update: I ordered for lunch a portion fettuccine alfredo disgusting is not even describing how horrible it was, it's all dried out, no cream whatsoever, it looks like margarine or something disgusting oozing in the plat what a crazy rip off. Update #2: just received this nice breakfast package which costs about $40 (on Uber eats $54) there is no way in the world this can be justified, let's start with the avocado you can see on the color that it's not fresh and it's unappetizing, a bagel that's hard, definitely not fresh, you see in the spreads container one compartment is empty (of course the biggest one), how smart do you have to be that you don't send a gift package with empty compartments, or find a different container or just fill it up with letters or tomatoes or anything cheap, who wants to receive a package where it looks like there's something missing, now as a cafe which I assume people order from all the time how can you not realize that nobody eats empty bagels, give along some butter or cream cheese or even jelly, something to smear on, spreads are always a bonus but basics is a must. How they justified asking such a swollen price is beyond understanding.
Update #3: do not buy a pie Pizza here, this is simple thievery, they put cheese and sauce on the dough but leave a crust of about 5 inches from the edge without sauce and cheese, just another rip off.
I cannot figure out why the owner is not interested in making money, this is an excellent location with so...
Read moreHad a bad experience at this restaurant. I ordered a "healthy salad" that arrived with corn, which isn’t mentioned anywhere on the menu. That would be annoying on its own, but the real issue was that I mentioned my companion is allergic to corn, and the guy behind the counter casually said, “Oh, I can just take it out, bro.” If someone has an allergy, you don’t just pick out the ingredient , you make a fresh salad. That’s basic food safety.
I also told him they should update the menu to show corn is included, and his response was, “If someone doesn’t like it, they can take it out.” That kind of attitude is careless and unprofessional. Meanwhile, the guy sitting at the front, who seemed like a manager or owner, didn’t care at all. I was still explaining the issue, and he just went back to learning in his sefer like I wasn’t even there.
As for the food itself, everything tasted the same. they got some magic ingredients I guess. I ordered scrambled eggs and got an omelette. When I said something, the guy just cut it up and gave it back to me. That’s not how you fix a wrong order. Eventually, he made a new one, but it still wasn’t even close to scrambled eggs.
I ordered a sesame stick and was given a sesame roll instead.
This place needs serious improvement in both customer service and food quality....
Read moreAfter reading some of the critical reviews, my daughter and I were reluctant to try City Cafe. As it turned out, because of the cold weather, my daughter didn't want to walk to the "other", nearby café with the higher ratings and we went to check this place out, instead. Let me tell you, all the negative stuff was bunk! We had tomato cabbage soup, a cheese omelette, salmon with sauted vegetables and fries. The place was clean. The ambience was reasonably tasteful. The service was friendly. The food was delicious. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. What more can you ask for from a restaurant? I suspect some of the negative reviewers might have been working for that "other",...
