If you are a fan of authentic Brooklyn diners, you MUST visit the McDonald Avenue Diner located on McDonald Avenue right next to the Avenue I (F) train station and across the street from Shoprite of Avenue I! This legit (open for breakfast and lunch) diner with friendly service and delicious food (and of course coffee) at reasonable prices is a neighborhood gem that will bring back great memories of a time when diners ruled the roost! And when you are there, please tell Miguel at the front counter that “large coffee, milk and no sugar” sent you!

I passed this place so many times, whether on foot or car and I never stopped in until today. This is a nice little diner, but it can seem a bit crowded. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the food came out fresh and delicious. I got the corned beef and scrambled eggs and I was very pleased that they use fresh corned beef. The overall appearance of the restaurant is clean and the prices are extremely reasonable. I will definitely stop by again the next time I am passing through this area.

20240220::i love these small local diners. i got the burger(ok, premade), and pankakes(i love pankakes as much as i love burgers). an order of pasta and alfredo, it wasn't bad(took a while cause they had to make the pasta midday. at least its fresh. need to try their omlettes and home fries

This was a very nice little dinner. The decor was clearly newly renovated and quite pleasant. The food was classic old-school dinner food; the chicken soup was particularly solid (nothing fancy, exactly what dinner chicken soup should be). The owner said that he was going to revamp the menu (which, as I said, was still very old-school), so hopefully there are some updates without losing that great classic feel. The only "problem" was that it seems to close early. This restaurant is just across the street from the largest supermarket in the neighborhood and I definitely will make it a ritual to grab a bite before I shop (if they are...

Dined in for a quick bite in the morning on a Sunday. I had a Turkey and bacon club sandwich with fries and it was okay at the moment. Around 10 minutes after finishing my food I felt nauseous but I shrugged it off since I don’t usually eat breakfast. Nope, started vomiting 2 hours after eating there and had diarrhea later that night. Tmi I know, but it’s been like that for three days. Not sure if it’s food poisoning but man, having to go to the bathroom every 20 minutes and every time i drink water doesn’t happen...
