Bayside Farm Market — Local services in New York

I have gotten to know Mr and Mrs Lee whom I do call by their first names but I will not list it here. They are some of the most loving kindness sweetest caring people I have ever met. I support them over any big business any supermarket chain or something like that every single time. All the employees are so friendly and so sweet mostly young men and women from Nepal. I've gotten to know so much about their culture and I will say it is amazing how polite and kind they are to every single customer that walks in that store. My wife is treated with the utmost of kindness and love every time she goes in there. Please don't go to 7-Eleven go here!!!! I consider the owners friends of mine now, not just owners but FRIENDS. After every time I leave there, I am in a much better mood than when I walked in no matter how good or bad I was feeling. Bayside is so blessed to have the store in the middle of it. On a different note they have the most beautiful flowers always fresh and so much cheaper than anywhere else you can go and the quality is very high. I love Mr and Mrs Lee like they are family. It's unfortunate I have to rate this place poorly. The staff are nice and it's open 24 hours on the off chance you really need to make a salad at 2am.

The place has a decent selection of produce and interestingly stocks some premium ice creams if you're spoiling yourself. They carry Alden's (only place in the area i've found that does, best chocolate ice cream) and NY's own Van Leeuwen pints and carry a more encompassing range of Ben and Jerry's, more so than even the Stop & Shop down in Bay Terrace.

The problem is that despite having a solid selection, the items themselves do not seem to be kept well. On my last visit here, there were loaves of bread that were moldy. Not just a little moldy but like half the loaf so I wonder how often the stuff is stocked or looked at.

And while I went on about their ice creams, it seems to be hit or miss because when you get some here, half the time you'll get the crystallized ice. You know the kind when you let ice cream melt and refreeze it. That indicates to me that on regular occasion, they let their freezers go above freezing...

They get 2 stars for the nice lady. If it wasn’t for her I would’ve just gave this place a one star. The Bubba burger was about to expire and it was $19.99, more expensive than the ones at stop&shop btw, and i also got a Refresher. Although the Refresher was not expired it tasted spoiled and I noticed it had brown residue at the bottom of the bottle like it wasn’t kept at the right temperature. I knew if that was the case I shouldn’t risk eating the burgers because not only were they close to expiring (less than 30 days) the packaging looked old and dusty like it’s been there for a long time under those conditions. When I returned for my refund a different cashier and another guy both seemed very opinionated and strong willed kept trying to convince me that the juice was good just because it didn’t expire yet, even though I complained it tasted like rotting eggs. I got refunded for both items after the back and forth thankfully. BEWARE and make sure to get a receipt. My first and last time going to this place...
