I hired BK Ironworks to replace a security gate for the first floor entrance to my home. Brandon seemed professional and his quote was reasonable. As they say, “you get what you pay for”. He was the least expensive and the quality of his work reflected it. The gate was installed but there was no skirting around it to ward off drafts or anything crawling or coming in. The previous gate had a skirting or flange to close the door against. Why would he think I would want a door with open space or gap on all four sides when he removed one that didn’t. I explained to him the problem and was told originally I could get something from Home Depot to fix it. I told him no I couldn’t but he could and Brandon agreed that he will return to fix it. Spoke to him on several occasions since and 3 weeks later, nothing. I had to hire another company to fix it. Guess what I have now that I haven’t seen in over 10 years, a mouse. Hopefully, not mice. I don’t think it is a coincidence, since there was access point. Also, he put on a new lock for the gate that is a fire hazard. Once it closes when you enter, you need to have a key to exit. Unprofessional originally came by my home and was on the phone for 15 minutes in my backyard and I had to wait for him to finish a personal phone call, then I requested a grey fence I received a black fence then he painted my fence with an oil based paint no priming eventually the paint chipped and peeled off.
