UPDATE!!!
5 years ago - 5 STARS: My experience is always great a Suede! The chef is great food is always favored well. I had the seafood roti and it was awesome! I came here on numerous occasions and decided to attend for my bday and at first they were not able to offer the free meal for option, bc it was a day or time that was excluded but the manager came over explained his apologies. I said no worries it's ok and later on that night he came back to check on us and said he will offer it. It made the night even better to get a free delicious meal! I went there yesterday for a bday dinner and we sat outside and it was awesome. Great
UPDATE 5 years later - EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I had numerous issues!
1 hr passed and I needed to use the restroom and the place was empty on the inside and more than enough tables outside! I told the manager the hostess never called. When asked if we can be seated the manager asked where, I said it doesn’t MATTER BECAUSE THERE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH SPACE! The apologies no nothing And the hostess never called us smh
The codfish fritters was dry and looked like they cooked them the day before. Was not appetizing to the eye.
I love Jamaican food because that’s where my family is from. So I desired a seafood roti but they no longer sold it even though it’s on the menu. Problem #1. Mind you they serve curry goat and curry chicken roti. So I asked if I could get shrimp instead and they said no. Why!!!?? All you are doing is putting the shrimp instead of goat. Major disappointment. So I ordered the curry shrimp meal with white rice and it came with 5 shrimp and one of them was still in the shell. On top of that the food was lukewarm at best. When mentioned the size of the shrimp and the size to the waiter he mentioned that it’s comparable to other restaurants. I told him what does that have to do with this place smh! Bad response!
I drove over 30 mins to wait 1 hrs for 5 shrimps and lukewarm rice! I could have went to a Jamaican restaurant closer to my house.
IT WAS NOT WORTH MY...
Read moreLet me start by saying this, I have been going to Suede from inception. The food, service and restaurant etiquette was amazing. Some of the owners (Jason- I believe was the young man’s name) would come over and make sure everything is great and everyone is satisfied, so when it was my turn to pick a restaurant for our monthly girls dinner, I didn’t hesitate to make them my first choice. Boy was I in for a rude awakening literally!
We got there and was seated promptly. The waitress did not have any enthusiasm about the menu or catering to us. (Which is fine, since I understand everyone has an off day) we ordered drinks and appetizers and felt rushed in ordering our entrees, but took no offense and did so. Fast forward to to end, our plates and half filled drinks were removed promptly without any questions and we were handed the bill. Confused, my friends and I were aghast and looked at each other in disbelief over the boldness that was occurring in front of our eyes. So we then asked if there was a dessert menu and she blurted out one item, so we then asked for another round of drinks and was told she will check with her manager, upon her return, she said it was not possible and we are welcome to sit at the bar. Take into consideration, this is less than two hours after being seated. I went and had a chat with the manager and was told the very same thing. So I think what is happening is that they have become popular and is no longer interested in making sure customers are well taken care of, they are just interested in getting paid and kicking you out right after. There was a couple sitting next to us that was there for a very long time and no one asked them to leave, but I guess they needed the table for a larger party, so they pick and choose whom to be rude to, so they will leave quickly.
FOOD: was average and not what I remembered. I think they are rushing the food and service.
DRINKS: were great per usual.
Let’s just say, I will not be going back there ever. Don’t waste your time, money or energy...
Read moreThe food was good/tasty and the place is nice but ran into a few issues. I would had given it a full 5 stars if wasn't for a few things. My friends and I came here to have brunch but guess what? No brunch! We were not informed when we called to add more people to our reservation the day before, nor did we got a heads up In advance. When we went to check in we were told " no brunch today, sorry ". Than we were told we will have to place u guys outside (cold day) so they went to prepare for us outside. To be fair- almost our entire party was there on time with the especially of 1. We were now being told for the first time " we can't sit you guys until the entire party is there ". In any event, we finally got a seat and started enjoying outside as we warm up into the weather with some drinks. While we were there our other friends called asking to join (5 more people). We spoke to the waiter asking him to add just 1 more table because we had a big couch already. He stated he needs to speak to the manager which he did. The manage was mean he said he's moving us inside (smaller) which couldnt fit us unless they rearrange mad chairs and tables. We kinda begged him for us to stay outside and add 1 table since we were already there- he rudely said "no". Eventually, they added chairs all the way to the back and told us he's moving us there. Our friend's came and we didnt want to let them sit because we were told they are moving us so they were standing at our table saying "greeting us". The manager came and rudely started moving us. Everyone started complaining to each other. I went to him and said " hi, you know you seem to be a little rude. We were just waiting for instructions". He said " you guys can't stand in the hallway (which is outside by out table. Not much people outside either). Overall the food was good, drinks was okay not too strong (mimosas) and the manager is very rude. Everyone working there was nice except...
