Footprints Cafe — Restaurant in New York

Well this was my first time ordering from this restaurant. Not my first time having food from them. I decided to order from them through Uber eats. I decided to have dinner from this location for Mother's day May 11th. I made sure to place my order 3 days in advance just in case the time slots became unavailable. Chose between 1pm to 1:30pm for delivery. I ordered the bogo (by one get one free) jerk chicken with rice and peas along with steam vegetables and plantain, Oxtail Rasta pasta, appetizers which was cod fish and 2 orders of BBQ wings, also bogo (by one get one free) garlic parmesan flatbread, 2 order of BBQ tenders, coconut shrimp with fries, cod fish with fries and lastly 4 festival. Boy was this a Rollercoaster!! It started to go well when they showed the driver was on his way to pick up the food. About 10 mins the time for delivery kept going on. It went up a total of 7 times. My food did not come till 2:30pm.. That was my first issue. I understand it was mothers day however I am sure this restaurant is use to a lot of orders coming through. Number 2 I start going through my food to make sure nothing was missing. Unfortunately items were missing. 3 items to be exact was missing. My second jerk chicken was missing and my 2 garlic parmesan flat bread was also missing. I was fumming. Being that I ordered these items to make sure plenty of food was available for my family and there was not!!! I called footprints right away. My 3rd issue is when I called I kept getting put on hold. I spoke with 3 different ladies all who I had to keep explaining to them what was missing. I was asked if it was pick up or delivery. Asked what's missing and so forth. I was on the phone with footprints for a total of 10 mins 57 secs. Most of it me being put on hold multiple times. The only thing that was finally said to me at the end is contact Uber eats. I didn't get a where sorry this happen our apologizes or a it's unfortunate this has happen let us see what we can do. None of that. I just ended up hanging up. Now I was able to get my refund through Uber eats... however..... I had to place another order for a different restaurant to get jerk chicken. I was pissed more money had to get spent when I just spent xyz amount on this big order. To add my 4th issue there meal only included one little piece of plantain. The Oxtail rasta pasta included only 5 piece of Oxtail. Very very disappointed in the service. Will I order from here again. No I will...

Footprints has fallen off. I have visited this establishment for well over 10 years. The ambiance is always great. Yesterday while visiting my server made me extremely uncomfortable. I ordered steamed snapper and shrimp. I asked for white rice with oxtail gravy. To my surprise everything was brought out on one plate. Shrimp, snapper, okra, carrots, steamed gracy, cabbage, white rice, oxtail gravy. When my plate was delivered I asked my server can the rice please be plated separately. The rice had soaked up all of the steamed gravy. Anyone who eats this dish knows the gravy is where the flavor lies. She told me she would bring me a second plate to scrape my rice into. I then said no, may you please have the chef separate this. She stood and just watched me while holding the plate. I said may I understand what the issue is you’re making me uncomfortable for wanting my food a certain way. She told me I would have to pay for the rice and I uncomfortably obliged. After this, she sent another server over with the food. Never came back over to the table and sent me the rice with fish gravy in a to go container. The entire interaction was demeaning. She was standing by the door as my guest and I left and didn’t greet us the way she was greeting other guests. Steamed fish gravy is oil based, olive oil is likely used in this dish who wants oily rice with oxtail gravy? Come on now. Every other restaurant I visit plates this separately I just visiting Swiingz and the Door whom both plated my rice separately without an up charge. I’m not really sure what’s going on in this place. My guest had Escoveitch snapper and I had steamed the fish was full full of scotch bonnet peppers and a lack of nice seasoning. We both agreed we would not be back. Footprints...

I should have looked at the review before mine before I placed an order on uber eats. First, I would like to mention that I will not take away from the fact that foot prints Rasta pasta is delicious. HOWEVER, my Uber eats experience was so bad that I have to put y’all on. At 10:36pm I ordered a Rasta pasta with oxtails and a pina colada. My food did not arrive until 12:34am! Uber offered me 5$ off my next uber eats order which was decent on their part because hello? Where is my food? My order totaled $31.52 (for pasta and a drink) which is not even what sent me. What sent me was the fact that I reached out to foot prints and requested to speak to the manager and When I asked her if there was anyway that I could be compensated (I.e a free appetizer or a discount on my next order from their restaurant she said that “because you ordered with a third party app (uber) there is nothing we can do”. I said “ma’am uber offered me $5 off for the delay (they had nothing to do with the restaurant not having my food ready because if they have nothing to pick up it is not their fault for my order being delivered so late”. She repeated that there is nothing she can do and that “there is ALWAYS a long wait time”. I try to support “black businesses” however this is unacceptable and these restaurants need better training on how to better resolve customer issues. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed with this restaurant and I will take my money...
