Went to Bobbyâs on 10/26/24 to return an iron that wouldnât get hot. Original box, receipt and new bottom, never actually use because it wouldnât get hot. Johnny the supposed manager or whatever tried to get my mom to get a new one though she was within the store policy. He states that, âitâs used because she put water in it. How?! Not only that my mom has been going to Bobbyâs since I was a kid and Iâm in my 40âs. She knows the black guy at customer service because she goes often and is friendly and holds conversations with everyone. Thatâs just who she is but this Johnny tried manipulating the situation when she said ânoâ. She didnât want a new one or different brand just her $20 back/tax. She spent over $150 when she originally bought the iron with other items. I wish we lived closer because I would have bought back every single last item. I recorded immediately because I watched and listened as he was trying to make a deal about the water. Water or not it didnât get hot and she didnât want it! I recorded from the time I stepped in to the conversation. He eventually gave her the pink slip but WHY DID IT TAKE ALL OF THIS FOR SOMETHING SO SIMPLE. Plus she uses access-a-ride to get across town to the store for us to start holiday shopping and planned to spend way more then the iron he didnât want to return. Like it stated sheâd already spent $150+ days prior and we planned to buy more. Her things list and my my list would have been about $200-$300 separately. The worker looked at me and walked away. I asked her again, and she didn't respond at all. Okay, I found a customer who got the items down for me. I get on the line, pay for my items. The items are placed in brown paper bag. Paper bag rips before I get to the main entrance, I go back and ask for another bag (cause this one has a hole in the bottom) She says oh the hole is small you don't need another bag (plastic hanger is hanging out the bottom of the bag) just push it in. I say, " Please give me another bag." she snatches the bag. Takes the items out and put them in another brown paper bag while calling me a bad word in her language (per Google translate). Sits the new paper bag on the counter and walks away. Ok, I reach for the bag, and the hanger has torn the bag on one side.
