I wish there was an option for no stars. God knows these people behind this management company are viscous, money hungry bullies. I reside in a ‘3’ bedroom apartment with my husband, daughter + cousin. We’ve been in our apartment for 2 years now. We’ve had repairs done ONCE, it was barely completed and it’s been a fight to get them to even acknowledge the issues we and countless other tenants have. •there’s a leak in the ceiling right next to the window of my daughter’s bedroom. It’s next to her bed and everything it rains heavily we have to move her bed, lay down linen and still put buckets to hold the water. We’ve ruined lots of good linen over the past two years. The paint as you can imagine is chipping all over that side of the room, exposing my daughter and my family to toxic levels of lead poisoning. Just two nights ago my daughter woke me up at 3am to move her bed because it was raining so hard. The entire building is infested with roaches and mice - we now have to hide all our food in odd places. We are up to mice droppings and eaten bags of snacks every single day. Our apartment is spotless - every time the exterminator comes in he commends us on how spotless the place is. We have been out of a laundromat since last July. There are elders in this apartment building. I am recovering from hip and knee surgeries so going out with the laundry while my husband is at work has been impossible the past few months. My husband is also studying for the Bar so his time is limited. It’s forced us to spend hundreds, probably close a thousand. (yes thousands) of dollars to hire laundry services. It’s the most inconvenient thing ever!
We’ve complained for two years about the neighbor right above us who pounds, bangs, jumps, screams and hold parties at the most ungodly hours. I’ve been to them on 3 occasions to let them know that things were actually shaking on our walls. 3 times they charged at me in an attempt to fight me.
Laundromat closed down. Garbage shoot has been closed for the duration of these two years. Tenants leave bags of garbage in the hallway everyday. The super leaves remnants of apartments that he’s working on in the elevator for days at a time. Old toilet seats included.
Back in November we noticed that we weren’t receiving any mails. We casually chucked it up to using my husband parent’s address as our mailing address, until our cousin said she wasn’t receiving any mails either. Days later there was a notice from the Post Office that tenants need to come pick up their mail because the management company refuses to give them a code to the door. What the hell?! This was rectified two weeks later.
They’ve now employed a new manager who comes into the building and bullies anyone who has an issue. My next door neighbor has only been here for two months and they’re ready to leave. The building has no security - drug dealers come in and out with their friends. They leave the back door open so that their friends can come on freely. On two ocassions a strange and clearly drugged out man came to our door, looking for someone and insisting they lived in our apartment. Thank God my husband was home! The tenants in this building are sick and tired but they do not know their rights and they’re probably intimidated.
They have illegally ‘cut up’ apartments to hike up the rent leaving rooms with no ventilation. During the winter months, the walls, curtains and everything in close proximity becomes BLACK WITH SMOKE.
Management is rude, dismissive, aggressive and racist. I’ve never experienced anything like this in all my years of living in Brooklyn. Our rent has been raised almost $500 in two years, in a rent stabilized building. I had a client visiting over the holidays and as soon as she walked in she asked who manages the building, because of all the code violations she saw. Call the office and no one seems to be there and it takes days to get a response via email. Our rent went up by $300 with an additional $300 security deposit.
An increase in rent with these conditions. Our only elevator out of order for two weeks. We have elderly and disabled residents that rely on the elevator.
Washing machines and dryers are CONSTANTLY breaking or do not work properly.
Our apartment was not properly inspected prior to us moving in. It was infested with rats and roaches.
Windows do not lock and are in poor condition. All the windows in this building should be replaced.
One of our vents in the bathroom is not working. We reached out to management for someone to inspect. A person came over, confirmed it didn't work, said he will be in touch.. never heard from again.
Trash is constantly in the hallways and stair case. You'll see the same piece of trash for days or walk by the same pee for days.
Paid $50 for a replacement key fob and it still doesn't work. I sent emails explaining the situation and was met with false hope each time. Claiming it will work by a certain date and it doesn't. They gladly took my money and the fob has yet to work. I was told it was a problem with their phone system...it's been a month.

Read more5 tines in the span of a couple of years the faulty fridge would break down forcing us to lose all purchases groceries. Again this past November we were left sans fridge or ability to store food cool for a week, this being with a senior citizen suffering from health issues also in the apartment. Well here we are again, after the so called new fridge was delivered it is once again running warm and our food is about to spoil, again. When we contacted the offices we were told by a receptionist everyone was home for the weekend.
THIS IS ABUSE!
How in your right minds CONEY REALTY do you do this to human beings including a senior who has health issues.
THID MANAGEMENT COMPANY IS A RISK TO THE BUILDING TENANTS AND SHOULD BE SEVERELY REPRIMANDED OR SHUT DOWN.
CONEY TAKES YOUR RENT MONEY WITH 100% disregard to caring for the tenants and building maintenance and upkeep.
