We came on the recommendation of a friend and we were very pleased.
Ambience is casual, clean, no frills and plenty of seating. Watching the worker make the breads from scratch as you come in is a nice touch.
Staff was very friendly and courteous and took the time to explain all the different dishes.
The freshly-made laffa was a really nice treat - especially in an era when restaurants cut back on the "fresh bread basket" starter that was common only a short while ago.
For starters we ordered the Appetizer Combo which included Falafel, Moroccan cigars, Chicken (egg)roll & Kibbeh. All were 10/10, although the falafel could have used a bit more of the cilantro and other seasoning you would expect in a falafel .
Although this is a Middle-Eastern joint, and we should have gone for their specialty dishes (shawarma, kebobs, etc.) we went with burgers, schnitzel, and all the sides. The burgers hit the spot, although we would have wanted thicker patties. And the schnitzel was the best we have ever had: thin, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside; fried to perfection. 10/10!
We will definitely be going back to try the...
Read moreThis is one of the oldest original authentic Israeli grill places in America still in existence. It used to be called Olympic Pita not sure why they changed the name but it's as good as it was when it opened about 30 years ago. You always get more than you pay for - no matter how many times I go there I always order too much! But everything is so good - their fresh hot laffas baked right there in the restaurant and served fresh out of the oven - together with their chumus and techina - is absolutely the best I've had anywhere. Their prices have certainly crept up over the years but it's still a great value for the amount of food you get. And their service has always been very good - you get seated quickly, served promptly, and the waiters are very responsive. If I have one complaint (and a small one at that) it's that their grilled chicken "salad" isn't actually a salad - you just self serve the same salads you get with everything else and add the chicken. Don't expect a ceasar style salad with romaine - all they have is shredded cabbage. Still, if you know what to expect, you cannot beat this...
Read moreThis is a tough review. I have eaten there often as well as takeout. Very mixed opinions on both. Today I am reviewing my takeout experience. I have to say that almost Everytime I order, they leave somethings out or don't pay attention to my requests. When I got home after a long drive I realized that it was missing a main dish as well as it's side. When I called they said I can get a refund or come all they way back to the store, which I was forced to do as one of my members of my family had no portion to eat. We all make mistakes, but this place did this several times over a few years. When complained, they don't even apologize or say sorry, or even compensate you with anything. They just offer you your missing dish . Like customer service doesn't even exist. The food itself is very good and portions are nicely sized. I am generally not a complainer, but this wasn't a one time experience. They really need to appreciate customers when there are so many places...
