CTown Supermarkets — Local services in New York

This market is convenient for the location but I find the prices to be unbelievable sometimes for certain items. They often have expired items on the shelves including in the dairy section. I've had to bring it to their attention many times because it seems they didn't notice it which is a little concerning even after days. I've accidentally bought and had to return expired items here. It's frustrating. It happened twice and I know now to always check the dates on everything even things where I see them restocking items. I normally check dates on items when shopping but when you're in a hurry you don't expect to be picking up items that are expired in a supermarket especially when you see the workers restocking shelves all the time. I went here to buy an item before and it was expired and on the shelf in the dairy section. I figured they maybe didn't check this section for the day so I returned two days later and the same item was still on the shelf. I brought it to their attention and they said they would remove it. In a few days I returned (they are the only store in the area that sells this item) and they did remove the old ones and put new ones. Recently however, I've brought to their attention that several items in the condiments section were expired (expired for over a year) and week after week, it hasn't been removed or replaced. Pricey supermarket but I get it it’s the only one in the neighborhood. I hear every one saying it’s clean and neat but please check EVERY expiration date I’m not talking about meat or milk I’m talking about anything that has a expiration date I have bought prunes that were expired 5/2021 today is 1/8/22. It’s not the first time check the pasta Sauce, can goods, box goods, rice, the bagged green such as collard greens. Now I’m not talking about 2 days expired I’m talking about weeks and months expired. I would never forget the first time 16 years ago when I purchase can juice for my daughter opened a juicy juice big can and the juice was not the color of the juice I marched backed with an expired juice that I almost gave my daughter. Ofcourse they gave me the money back but to stop by today and see my prunes her almost 7 months expired triggered that memory. There's not many options for food shopping near here, unless you're driving or taking a cab. Between c town and fine and fare is definitely recommend c town. It's not like stop and shop and it really only carries the basics, no butcher shop to request your cut and no fish(this is prepackaged and delivered to location each morning, imho) but they have great deals on stuff like OJ, milk, cereals, and I personally suggest their produce(veggies) I typically run here when I've ran out of something, need fresh veggies,...
