I will NEVER visit this salon again. -100/10 I would NOT recommend. I came to this salon at the beginning of March to get small boho knotless braids with Fulani in the front. I called and texted a month before to book. I sent pictures and everything. Only to show up the day of for my appointment time (12 p.m.) and be forced to wait TWO hours bc the owner Mimi said there was one person she wanted to do my hair because she is the best at Fulani. I watched people that came wayyyy after me get started (and eventually leave) before me. Long story short, My hair was not done well at all. The parts were not small they were medium. The ends were not braided with the curly hair, but left straight and unfinished which looked terrible. The hair was passed butt length (I asked for mid-back.) My hair ended up being super tight & heavy and pulled out so much of my natural hair when I took it out. I had blisters and exposed follicles along my hairline because of how tight and heavy it was. Most importantly, the human hair I spent so much money on was literally coming out of the braids the next day. I had to redip the hair myself the next day and brush it out bc th hair was so tangled from not being brushed out after the dip. Only to discover that the curly pieces of hair were literally coming out in clumps y’all. CLUMPS. The expensive ass hair I paid for was just coming out with me GENTLY running my hand through. It was to the point that I was shedding so much hair daily, there were multiple braids that literally had no curly pieces left. All this within the first week of getting it done. I have done this style multiple times I know there can be shedding. But not like this. I was not being rough & was losing massive amounts of hair DAILY. Imagine losing the amount of hair in the photo EVERY DAY. I called the owner and explained what was going on. I sent pictures etc. and she said she would find out who did my hair and get back to me. NEVER did. I had to reach back out to her about it again to which she replied she would give me a “very big” discount for my trouble. How much? She wouldn’t say. I told her when I wanted to come in and she said that Sunday the 30th would be fine and to arrive at 10 a.m. Guess what? I showed up to her not being there because it was a holiday, which I understand. However, no one was expecting me or knew of my situation. Then the same woman that messed my hair up the first time showed up to do it again and was telling me I would have to pay the full price. I calmly and respectfully explained, yet again, what the situation was and that I would rather wait for another braider because of it. I then had to insist that before anyone started my hair, I was told the price. Bc everyone kept looking at me like I was crazy when I mentioned the discount. The person I assume was in charge at that point called Mimi, who asked to speak with me only to tell me over the phone, “Today is a holiday. It is very important to me. I am spending time with my family and do not want to talk about business today. I will give you a $30 discount.” I told her that she told me to come today and guaranteed me the discount. She repeated her frustration with me. I handed the phone back bc I couldn’t believe the lack of professionalism and respect. I paid full price for a style that lasted TWO weeks bc it was terribly done. Had to pay additional money to purchase new curly hair to have it redone all for a $30 discount and to be presented with the same individual that did the bad work the first time. Then to top it all off, I got scolded for her worker having to reach out to her on a holiday when she should’ve communicated it to them in the first place???? I am not the one or the two. Needless to say, I packed up my stuff and left. I was reminded of why I stopped going to these kinds of salons. No professionalism, courtesy, or value for anyone’s time other than their own. Visit this establishment at your own risk honestly, but to me it is not worth it. The shop is clearly as dirty as their treatment of their customers.

My hair was done really nice and the women there were sweet and kind. Although I love my hair the experience was enough for me to likely not come back. I can get this done at a similar price point somewhere much cleaner. However, big shout out to the multiple women who worked on my hair they were very kind the entire time. But the hair was to much money for them to not be able to pass a broom on the floor. I was there for 6 hours that corn was right there with me the whole six hours. And if your hair falls on the floor they pick it up and use it. Which I guess isn’t all bad but the fact that the floor is already so dirty just feels unclean. The pictures I took doesn’t even begin to capture the mess that’s just what was immediately around me. They also dried my hair with a used towel that had hair in it. Suggestion to the owner, each station should have a nearby garbage can and each hair dresser should be sweeping once in between clients. Chairs that aren’t being used should be pushed in an out of the way. There should be a place for the kids when the come in to put their stuff down. If you need to buy more buy more. Opt for the wash and fold at the local laundromat. Give one of the kids $10 to drop off and pick up or something. It’ll pay off in the long run. Workers shouldn’t be struggling to find clean towels. They’re doing the best with what they have. The owner was in the shop for majority of the time that I was there. She also left without ensuring that the floor was swept. When I come in here I’m not expecting a spa experience but I’m expecting a basic level of cleanliness.

I’ve only been to this salon twice and unfortunately, most likely won’t go back. I arrived at 8 AM and there were two braiders there. I showed the style that I wanted and they started going back-and-forth with how much to charge. I wanted a simple cornrow (posted) style for vacation and I would wear a half wig to cover the back of my head. I told my braider this. I came with washed, blow dried, detangled and stretched hair but she still decides to blow dry my hair and it’s passing through it like she’s trying to rip it out of my head. she then starts to part and re part my hair over and over again like she can’t figure out where to start. when she finally finishes braiding, I can immediately tell this is not what I asked for. I specifically picked this design, so there wouldn’t be too much tension on my hairline and my edges yet she put braids directly on both my edges and my hairline. Again, I told my braider I would be wearing a half wig And I think you can tell from the inspo pic that the back of her hair is braided but my lady acted confused and annoyed when I asked her to please braid the back of my head. I got charged an extra $20 for this and she gripped the tiniest little hairs at the nape of my neck, making it almost impossible for me to clip the comb that goes at the back of my head to keep the wig secured. I paid $80 and I did not tip because although it’s not what I asked for, I have received compliments on it, but the experience makes me not want to go back.

If I could rate the salon a “0” star I would! I came into the salon from the state of Rhode Island. I was staying with a family friend from Queens, I called before I got to the salon and asked whether or not the owner Mimi I believe her name is would be able to take me for boho knotless with ALL human hair. She said yes, that’s fine, I get to the salon and it is packed like Salmon in there, literally no space to move around. Anyways, after showing Mimi pictures of the style that I want, which I let her know that I want boho knotless with all human hair, I had to go to the beauty supply to get the hair, I get back to the salon and wait for about two hours. The lady who was going to braid my hair I could tell was tired and had an attitude, I paid it no mind, as long as I am able to get the service I need, it wasn’t a big deal. Mind you, she just finished a woman’s hair who I spoke directly to and I asked her if she used all human hair, she said yes, but it’s worth it to do it that way. The first braider was the one who started taking apart my human hair to separate it. I had to sit in another chair where another braider started my hair, she started using synthetic braiding and adding in a piece of human hair, I let her do a few but ultimately had to say something because I am the customer and want to always advocate for myself. I go and talk to the owner and let her know this is not what I want and ultimately, she decided to let me know that I’m “being too difficult and they are not going to braid my hair. I have never been so embarrassed and just disappointed at how I was treated in this shop. They truly do not care about the customers because they have so many, I do not recommend going here not a friendly place for black women. Mind you the braider who had an attitude was laughing as she handed me my human hair to leave. Huge...
