First week of April, a shot lady stuff came rushing to serve my husband, my guess she did not know that I was with him, I'm standing beside while my husband orders, my husband immediately lowers his face & wicks @ her "as tho hinting her to slow it down w her acts, while she flirted with my husband". Meanwhile, the female stuff wicked back at my husband..also lowering her face. Then she began to laugh. I turned at my husband & asked him what was going on. My husband pretends as though none had happened. I asked for the second time the results was the same. Third time I told both to wear shame on them & be more professional.
I have been a customer since Tropical Grill & Resturant first opened on 127th street Adam Clayton Ave Harlem NYC
Apparently last week Tuesday April 26th I asked my Husband to but me some Yuxa among other food. When I opened the Yuca,, Chicken Soup & other food, the Yuca had plenty of black stuff, top & bottom this was not usual.
At this time my husband had left. So i called him & asked where he had bought the food. His response was "by the Spanish" Tropical Grill & Tropical. I first tried to clean it, but the more I ckeaned it more & more was appearing underneath. Then I decided to take three photos of the Uca Plate.
Next day I took the entire food as was, & I showed it to the male & female stuff I usually buy from. The male stuff asked me to let my husband bring it back to them instead, since he is the one who had paid for it. I told them that he was @ work ' normally finishes late. At this point the elder female stuff insist to tell me that I could not be helped till my husband returned the food.
Well Immediately after, a "so called female manager" came out from back very arrogant & asked again that my husband brought back to them. So the three stuff kinda of spoke loud at me. I felt voliented as a customer. I told them, being fluquent customers my husband & myself. And walking with with support I asked that they exchanged the plate, and has that was the first time I ever returned food.
At this point they both checked the Yuca plate with the said black stuffs messed in it. And I was getting mad, because, my husband & I buy most of meals from same Tropical Grill & Resturand nearly 3.5 years having living in a nearby hotel.
After telling the manager that I would call the Department of Food Hygiene she immediately asked me what I wanted in exchange, I told her same thing "Yuca" she had messed Yica that was being served, so she went behind & served me better some Yuca.
Today, my husband & I went there again, Tropical Grill & Resturant, we got approached by a he young make stuff & another older female stuff, while I was being served by the female stuff, my husband asks the young make stuff to call the short female stuff that had been flirting with my husband weeks ago. I asked my husband why the young male stuff won't serve him, yet instead asked for the flirty female who was all the way at the back Resturant to come serve him. I question what exactly was going on between them two? To my surprise, the Manage out & said to me "your husband he is a good man, he does not love you, you need to leave him" & then she tells my husband "what are you doing with this crazy jealous wiman? you need to leave her," last week she came here, and made noise about the bad Yuca, & now today again she is making noise".
I asked the manager where her professionalism was, then she says you need to stop coming here. While I waited for my Food plates. The manager spoke loud & made me feel as though this Tripical Grill & Restaurant is a Joint for Prostitutes working behind the Food Stand.... Another customer whom I wont disclose, had to interfer & asked the Manager why she had a nerve side a flirty stuff & my husband on repeated. Then bring in the bad Yuca which was a past incident.as tho I should not have complained to return the bad food... Bottomline, the Tropical Grill & Resturant 164 W 116 has no professionalism towards its client's & their partners.

Read moreDiscrimination/ Bias: I ordered food for delivery from this restaurant today and spoke with a man on the phone. I provided my address and phone number and at no time during that call did the person say that they do not deliver to the apartments in the projects. In fact, we have ordered from them before and the delivery people have brought food right to the door without issue. Today, there seemed to be some issue. The delivery person would not come up and my mother who is elderly and walks with a cane could not come down. She had to wait to call someone in the building or struggle to come herself. A woman from the restaurant called talking very fast and over me (I placed the phone order) saying “we do not come up in the projects, you have to come down.” As I’m trying to explain the situation she continues to yell and say do you want the food or to cancel the food. She continued to yell and not listen to the paying customer. She instead kept repeating the same thing.
After telling her that this is rude, and discriminatory, I hung up. I will not order from this establishment again because of the above behavior and because of stereotypes that place simple because someone lives in the projects.
If you don’t want to deliver to residents that live in the projects do not put your business in those...
Read moreI had a horrible experience here. One of the members of staff was extremely rude to me. I made an order online and they accepted the order and sent me a notification that it was ready to be picked up. They called me to let me know they didn’t have what I ordered which begged the question “why then did you accept the order and charge me when uber eats let’s you notify the customer that you don’t have an item on the menu so they can change their selection or cancel the order?” I called back but since they were on another call, it didn’t go through and the voicemail wasn’t set up so I had to go there in person to see what I could do and after waiting for 30 minutes because they insisted I speak to one specific lady who handled online orders, she told me it wasn’t her problem because they tried to call me. No apology for the long wait or inconvenience or for accepting an order that they couldn’t fulfill and charging me, impeding me from canceling the order because as far as Uber Eats is concerned, the restaurant had completed my order. Highly unnecessarily rude encounter and a waste of my time. The lady in question hissed and motioned to her coworker that I was crazy for complaining about the situation that “wasn’t her fault” as I walked out....
