Good evening everyone. I have a hell of a story to tell about this location. I have bought african cichlids from this location in the past more than a few times. Recently I have purchased $100.00 worth of sand for my new African Cichlid tank. At that time, the workers seemed to be very compassionate. Yesterday I went to the store with four cichlids hoping to get a minimal store credit. I was told that they do not give credit for fish but you can donate the fish. They couldn't give me like $5.00 for a fish that can be sold for 100% profit, but I can donate it for free. I was told that it is too expensive to medicate and quarantine the fish. If I donate it, you still got to quarantine. GO FIGURE. I came from Canarsie all the way to Coney Island like I explained to them, and got this kind of treatment. I couldn't beg them to make an exception that one time although I said I wouldn't attempt to trade again. Maybe I should have called first, but I really didn't expect to be treated that way, especially after buying all the sand they had in stock just 3 weeks ago. I just left the store with a bad taste in my mouth. I actually got a $20.00 credit for three, not four of the cichlids at another aquarium with no problem. I gladly purchased two beautiful male peacock cichlids from them. I would NEVER set foot in that...

Read moreTrust the good reviews of this place. My husband works for an aquatic tank maintenance business and has maintained his own fish tanks for over 40 years and this is his main go-to when buying fish, corals and invertebrates. The main thing you want from a good fish store is clean tanks (so you can assess the health of the fish you're buying), and a knowledgeable staff. This place has that and more, esp hard to find LPS, SPS, and Softies (corals). It's worth the drive over there...
