Elegante Pastry Shop — Restaurant in New York

I sent over a photo of the cake I wanted when I was ordering it on the phone. I was told that they could do a cake just like the one in the top photo for my birthday and was reassured that the person on the phone wrote down everything needed so my cake would look the same way. I arrived a few minutes late to pick up the cake and I appreciated them staying open a few minutes later past close so I could pick it up the day I planned.

However, once I drove off and opened the cake, I saw that it looked nothing like the photo I sent them. I called back the next day and tried to get a new cake because this wasn’t what I paid for. They insisted it was a miscommunication on their end and told me I could come back to get a new cake later that day. After driving 30 minutes back to the bakery, there was another miscommunication that I was supposed to bring in the original cake so they could redecorate it for me instead of them giving me a brand new cake.

I’m not sure what the point of sending the photo in the first place was if they weren’t going to write down the right things needed so the bakers would know how to recreate the cake I sent them. I won’t be purchasing from this bakery ever again and I don’t recommend you...

no complaints about the pastries. my only complaint is ... ive been coming here for prob 20 years, about 15x a week between buying for work, guests, and personal. once upon a time you'd walk in and all the friendly neighborhood girls behind the counter would greet you with a hello at least. Now we go in there, stores completely empty,...3 workers behind the counter...2 telling jokes to each other, the 3rd with her headphones in singing to herself. not 1 "hello" or " can i help you?", no eye contact for about 2 min ATLEAST while we just stand there. it happens almost every time now. not sure where they found these "workers", but as of this morning, i will not be returning. Overpriced for mediocre work. I am heartbroken after my experience here. A day before my daughter’s Birthday, I went to this bakery looking for a custom cake, my daughter grandmother said she would take care of the cake but last minute cancelled. They agreed to do the cake I told them the theme and sent a picture of an example of a cake I like. They charged me $300 for the cake and 9 cupcakes. I had to pick up the cake the next day at 2pm. But the cake was ugly. Charged me soo much for mediocre work. Be careful the artwork here is subpar. And the actual cake was gross. Didnt even eat it....
