Best Italian food in all of Brooklyn this menu was at 2 previous restaurant's and has a history of over 50 years. Originally it was Carolinas in Coney Island then Fiorintino's on Ave U. Fiorintino's closed after 30 years due to the fact that owners wanted to retire. A waiter named Charlie from there opened up Giovanni's and hired the chefs as well as a few waiters. And that great tasting good experience lives on. The very best baked clams a zuppa di red clams as well as the mozzarella and correza. Everything on the dinner menu is delicious in my opinion the very best veal parm every. This is truly an Italian experience at affordable prices.

Great place for small group celebration. The food is ok if you like Italian food (I am not so much, generally is too sour). Place is a little bit narrow but the staff are great.

Food wasn't good. I'm not sure where all the good reviews came from. Friend ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were dry and tasted odd...almost like soap. Other friend ordered calamari which looked dull and texture was a bit mushy. It came with some clams that had a lot of sand in it. I ordered the grilled seafood (lobster, shrimp, scallops) and they ran out of scallops. They asked if more shrimp was okay or they can give me 2 lobster tails instead of one so I chose that. Lobster tails were alright. But when the bill came, instead of $29 for my dish it was $40. My fault for not paying attention so I already paid and realized after the fact. The second lobster tail was supposed to be a substitute for the scallops and shrimp because I didn't get any of those, just 2 lobster tails. And if their intention was to offer me a different dish of 2 lobster tails, then be upfront and say that it will cost more instead of saying substitute. The staff were all nice but definitely never coming back. We all left...

I was pleasantly surprised that this is owned by the waiters from Fiorentinos .. happy to see them and its the same chef as well so food is still good. I was disapointed that my favorite dish chicken picata wasnt the same ao i sent it back which i never really do. The gentleman who took my dish back misunderstood me.. i said it didnt have any lemon taste and he thought i didnt want lemon so they remade it with no lemon.. it was also missing the capers it usually has. They also dont make the baked escarole here which we miss. BUT they did have the mozzerella carozza and escarole w/garlic and potato croquette and the veal chop parmagian which all were EXCELLENT. And they brought us a piece of italian cheese cake to make up for the mistake with the chicken dish .. we...

Charlie from Florentino opened this small but nice family oriented resturant. No liquor license yet its a lengthy process. Call ahead for BYOB. There were six of us for Christmas Eve dinner food was delcious and prepared perfectly. Certainly will be back again. Staff was excellent.

Went back for Mother's Day & Father's Day the quality of the food was not the same, some dishes were overcooked, over salted and some without salt complained to owner he took food back 2nd time food was cold. Will not go back during a holiday when its over crowded.

Update: We came to our favorite neighborhood restaurant Giovanni for my sister's birthday. As alway, food was and still very delcious. Giovanni now has its...
