Fine fare Supermarket — Local services in New York

I am posting this review as a public safety notice for anyone who shops in this area.

Two documented incidents occurred at this store. On November 10, 2025, I attempted to enter and was blocked at the door by the man who stands near produce acting as security. He accused me of attempted shoplifting without evidence and told me I could not enter due to an “incident” on November 8.

Here is what actually happened on November 8: I visited with a friend who returned every item to the shelves before leaving to retrieve her payment card. No merchandise left the store. Despite that, this same individual grabbed me, restricted my movement, and opened my backpack without consent. The behavior was aggressive, unjustified, and unsafe.

When I tried to shop again on the 10th, he repeated the false accusation and denied entry a second time.

These actions raise serious concerns about customer safety, discrimination, and improper use of force inside this business. Shoppers deserve a secure environment, not hostile treatment or baseless accusations.

I strongly recommend that management review surveillance footage from both dates, retrain personnel, and implement proper oversight to protect customers.

I arrived there 10 minutes before closing time and only needed a small $1 item and the guy was very rude and locked the door in my face. If you want to close at 8:50pm, make it your official hours, because I left my house to get something important that I needed and was there on time to be treated unfair and turned down at the door when I would of been in an out before 8:55pm, when they dont even close until 9pm. I was a regular, but because of this, i will never step foot in that place ever again. I advice anyone in the area to go to one of the 2 cherry valleys as an alternative. I actually gave them the great rating that they deserve. This supermarket,when it comes to basics,isnt bad. But it also doesn't have a great selection. The supermarket is also short on employees. The deli rarely has someone to take your order. There are about 5 registers but you'll only see 2 ever open. Their oranges aren't that good. The whole fruit selection is blah. The place is mostly empty and it's very cold. Cold! This is the second time this supermarket has opened. The first was about 3-4 yrs ago. The name changed to Associated,then closed Nov of 2017 for an unknown reason. It reopened with the original name in the spring. Was hoping they'd have better management but it seems the same bad situation continues. TIP: check the dates on everything!
