FOOD BAZAAR — Local services in New York

I've been twice now and have limited experience, but enough to review for others.

I don't think the 4.1 stars is fair, probably dragged down by some really negative, unhappy reviews. I'm giving it a five, a legit, not-overcompensating, five, for my specific visits and the way I shop. Your experience may vary.

Context. I'm a PIA shopper. I admit it. I own it. That means pain-in-the-a** shopper. I'm always late, rushing in last second, easily distracted by encountering something not on my list, but interesting. I'm legit ADHD, recently diagnosed and still learning to treat and manage it, which makes me the above. I haven't been treated like a jerk and I have been one of the last people or the last person both times. I don't get angry now that I understand my own pia-ness better, but the staff has definitely NOT been hostile or irritated. They also don't realize I speak and understand some Spanish so I might know what they're saying... and they're still cool. 😄. They should also realize that Spanish IS VERY common btw... but that's just advice, not a complaint.

That's not the reason I decided to review and rate, though. I was distracted by some of the negative reviews. I'm not saying those people are bad, everyone has their experience and their lenses. It's just notable that I came in with 15 mins to go, they don't lock the front door early, like many places do nowadays, and they aren't mean, in my experience.

My motivation to review is primarily the produce, secondarily the organization and presentation.

A. They have good produce. Full stop. It's good. Good quality. Organized and discoverable. Clean. Washed. Not gritty so far. Getting raw, bunched spinach that is NOT gritty, in NYC, is a gem. This is good, indicative of good, trustworthy care. B. There is alot of stuff, it's a pretty big place, but it's organized, it's consistent, and things are so neat on the shelves and well maintained. It's a good place for an ADHD head like me. Truly.

They do have extensive fish options, also rare in this area, and NYC, haven't tried that or meat yet. But the rest of it bodes well.

I decided to shop at my local food bazaar. This location isn't my preferred location due to their unpleasant staff. However, I needed a few items. Me and my daughter and I were starred at and followed by a miniature so-called security guard. So I said, "Why are you starring at us? He just stood there. He didn't look at anyone else who walked into the store. Everywhere we walked, he was there, the cashier didn't greet us either she was on her phone and had an attitude that he we sent to her aisle all she asked was did need bags. She left our food in some hole they have in belt. I just looked at her. I said right in her face that this was a very unpleasant experience, and I would never return. I read other reviews, and it's constant complaints about racism and rotten produce and unprofessional staff. They have old pervs outside who wouldn't even say good morning, but they want you to ride in their cars. No, thank you! While waiting for uber ride everyone who came who was of a hispanic they were greeted and helped.

The bottom line is their racist! Their produce is poor and rotten Everyone claims not to speak English. And they need to hire professional security. This little man complex is a total jerk. The community needs to boycott...

Get a deli that makes sandwiches and sells fresh boars 🐗 head cold cuts. But u got the 3 stars due to one of the security guards making me wait, when there were cash registers open to process customers. And his attitude stank. How about an express line? The fact that you answered my review will get you another star. I have a virtual business that caters to social media management. Our main platform is Google Profiles. But we also manage Facebook pages and Instagram accounts. But our main focus for businesses like yours, Google and Facebook Biz page are the best for search engine optimization.
