If I could give Father &Son 10 stars based on customer service alone, I would! We were greeted immediately when we walked in and asked if it was our first time, then got a a warm "welcome" when we replied yes. They were busy, it was a Saturday afternoon around four and it's only take out. The establishment was clean, and not terribly crowded; there were a few Uber eats/grub hub delivery persons waiting for orders and a few other patrons waiting to place their orders as well. Once we decided what we wanted, I had the chance to ask the gentlemen who greeted us if he was the father of the son,and he said "the son" with a smile. We stepped off to the side to wait like everyone else, and not 60 seconds passed and a young lady came from the kitchen And gave us a small container with yams, macnchz, and a sweet chili sauce drenched wing! We were confused when she was trying to hand them to us and so grateful for the sample. It was a very nice touch! The yams and Mac n cheese were ok, and the wing was nicely coated in the sauce, but I'm not really a fan of spicy food so I only tasted it. I also don't eat much chicken any more do it would've been awesome to get another dude it something else. I'm not complaining - that was one of the best gestures I've ever received at a local restaurant and it's the reason I'd give 10 stars if I could. We waited for about 10 minutes for our fried catfish and sides of cabbage, yams, Mac and cheese and collard greens. The food was ok, nothing extra ordinary, just delicious as you'd expect. I wasn't a fan of the collard greens, to me they were overcooked and had a peppery spicy note that I'm not fond of. Overall, I would visit again if I were in the area and would recommend if you're looking for an establishment that makes you feel appreciated and valued. Oh, the big boy pink lemonade?!? Took it home and froze it...sweet...
Read moreHe got insulted and told me I should go to McDonald's next time.Did offer to reimburse me my money which was over $50 I declined because that wasn't the reason for my call. I just wanted to say how disappointed I was with the sweet chilli wings that were made with too much sugar and poorly tasting sauce they choose. The macaroni and cheese was definitely a left over because it not only didn't have flavor it taste like yesterday's or days before left overheated back up. The potatoe salad was none like I ever had before. Hard potatoes mixed In a white sauce and some type of maybe pickle specks. That's all. No taste no seasoning just bland. Garlic mash potatoes were overly whipped and also not enjoyable. Fried whiting fish was almost non existence because they where so scrawny. Seemed like they where that new plastic pretend fish going around although they were seasoned ok. Still I didn't eat it. I didn't trust it. The smell was over bearing, and u didn't want to take a chance. Gave me the same white and mystery green pickled like specks they mixed for the potatoe salad. Had the NERVE! to package one of them not properly therefore creating a mess all over the bag before it got to me. I called because I am disabled and thought I found a hidden gem instead I just got a very very horrible disappointment. My care taker went all the way over there on a very cold day. Which turned out to be a waste of time. The man on the phone I guess never really got real feedback from anyone before just told me they had tons of customers with a flippied attitude. I wasn't trying to get him angry just wanted him to understand better way of packaging take out orders and maybe a little suggestion with Love. He told me to make my own food next time. Sir if i could I...
Read moreMy sister raved about this place to my daughter because she's a little foodie and loves trying new food- but very particular with the taste. She specifically suggested the sweet wings and mac- while mentioning, you can try a sample if its your first time. We went and she asked for a sample before she ordered while paying with HER MONEY! The head cashier replied- samples aren't for kids (she's 12). I said fine- she can have mines! I was then told it was for first time customers- i said that we are. He/She challenged me and said are you sure?! then walked away and began to gossip with the other lady behind the counter. Although i wanted to leave- my baby still wanted to order. she had to asked 3 times for her order to be taken and there were 3 people behind the counter- 1 being the owner whom didn't acknowledge her until I told her We Can Go Elsewhere ! There was no fries and there was no accommodation for the missing item other than to order separate. The wing combo- $9 (wings fried & soda) - wings alone $8 -_- they didn't even try to compensate and offer rice instead- nothing other than to order sides separate. the food was salty, macaroni overcooked and no cheese, yams are from a can- 0/10 on food and customer service. the customer service matches the location- BROWNSVILLE!!!. My daughter ordered wings for her and her brother- while driving he passed the plate to me and said he didn't want anymore and the chicken was fuc*ing pink!!!! i was too pissed to even go back- but ZERO OUT OF TENNNN !!! DO NOT RECCOMEND!!!!!! I'll continue to go to Grandma's Kitchen on 1172 Park Pl where the food and customer service are both top tier...
