My recent stay at Moon Hotel Brooklyn was a disappointing and frustrating experience that I feel compelled to share, as an international traveler from Japan with limited English proficiency.
Upon checking in, I immediately noticed that the heater in my room was not working, leaving the space uncomfortably cold. As someone who struggles with English, communicating this issue to the staff was challenging, but I made an effort to express my concerns.
To compound my discomfort, there was no hot water when I attempted to shower. This was particularly distressing after a long day of travel. I expected a basic level of comfort and amenities, but Moon Hotel Brooklyn failed to meet even these modest standards.
Upon returning home, I took the initiative to call the hotel and voice my concerns. To my dismay, I was told that I had to email the manager, Andy, to address my issues. I promptly sent an email on January 5, 2024, detailing the problems I had encountered during my stay. Unfortunately, my efforts to communicate my concerns were met with silence.
After waiting several weeks for a response, I decided to take matters into my own hands and called Moon Hotel Brooklyn once again. When I finally spoke with Manager Andy, he shockingly claimed that he had never received my email. Frustrated, I provided him with the exact time and date of my email, and suddenly, he conveniently found it. Despite acknowledging the issues I faced, he callously informed me that there was nothing he could do to address the inconveniences I endured during my two-night stay.
Feeling unheard and dissatisfied, I requested a partial credit for my stay, hoping for some acknowledgment of the difficulties I experienced. Unfortunately, Manager Andy refused to provide any compensation, leaving me thoroughly disappointed with the overall customer service and lack of accountability at Moon Hotel Brooklyn.
In conclusion, Moon Hotel Brooklyn failed to meet basic standards of hospitality and responsiveness. The malfunctioning heater, lack of hot water, and unhelpful management made my stay regrettable. I would caution fellow travelers, especially those with language barriers, to consider alternative accommodations...
Read moreGood for a cheap room. on a main road with people on the street 24 hours a day with 2 24 hour deli stores with grill open all night one block up. Bus close. Train and subway 15 minutes walk. This is one of the worst neighborhoods in brooklyn so be careful at night. Room I received was much smaller than any pics online. Was full size bed with 1 broken leg so bed was uneven and soft. Fridge could only fit few drinks. No chair no couch no closet. Bathroom toilet was loose. Bathroom was small. Sink was tiny uncomfortable to enter and use. In the middle of the night was 2:30 am and I heard hotel worker banging on the hotel room door next to me saying check out time. Found out this hotel rents out short stays at night for 2 hours minimum to homeless, drug addicts and prostitutes. Was very loud they were arguing back and forth went on for 15 minutes. So next time I'll bring pepper spray and ear plugs and no cash. Don't bring Wife or kids. Take self...
Read moreI had a very disappointing stay at Moon Hotel Brooklyn, where every room I tried had serious issues—curtains that didn’t block sunlight, a broken faucet, a non-working light, and a shower door that leaked water everywhere. Some rooms blasted loud music at night, making it hard to sleep, and no one seemed to care. The key card also stopped working suddenly, requiring a trip to the front desk. The bathroom was extremely cramped, barely offering enough space for even a slim person to move comfortably. Worst of all, when I reported these problems, the hotel staff showed no concern or willingness to help. Overall, this place felt more like a poorly maintained motel than a proper hotel—avoid it...
