Saturday morning July 26th around 8:45-9am. I went to shop for a few items after work and this hispanic cashier, think she was Mexican dark brown skin , short black hair, sort of like a bob cut style was on the 3rd or 4th cashier section thought she could order me to pack my own item. As she was ringing up my items she tells me in Spanish to start packing my groceries!! What??! I said to her. I am the customer, You are the cashier, this is your job you are supposed to pack the customers groceries NOT THE CUSTOMER. THESE CASHIERS THAT WORK HERE, THINK THEY CAN TELL CUSTOMERS TO PACK THEIR OWN GROCERIES! NOPE. THEY TRYING TO HOLD ON TO WHEN IT WAS THE COVID PANDEMIC THAT PPL WOULD PACK THEIR OWN ITEMS. THAT WAS THEN. THE PANDEMIC ENDED MORE THAN THREE YEARS AGO. WE ARE NOT IN THE PANDEMIC ERA AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TELL OR EXPECT A CUSTOMERS TO PACK THEIR GROCERIES. THIS IS YOUR JOB. IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR JOB OR DON'T WANT TO DO YOUR JOB, STEP ASIDE AND LET SOMEONE ELSE WHO WOULD BE GLAD TO HAVE A JOB DO IT. OTHER STORES AND GROCERIES SUPERMARKET CASHIERS PACK THE CUSTOMERS GROCERIES. THIS SUPERMARKET FOOD UNIVERSE CASHIERS MOST ARE RUDE AND ALWAYS HAVE A MAD FACE. THEY NEED TO BE VERY CAREFUL. THEY DON'T KNOW WHO IS WALKING IN THROUGH THOSE DOORS. I CALLED THE SUPERMARKET AND SOME FEMALE GAVE THE NAME SANDY STATED SHE WAS THE MANAGER. WHETHER SHE REALLY WAS THE MANAGER OR NOT, I DON'T KNOW. I TOLD HER WHAT HAPPENED AND TOLD HER THE NEXT TIME ANY OF THESE CASHIERS DO THIS, I WILL PUT IN A COMPLAINT WITH THE DEPT OF CONSUMER AND HAVE A INSPECTOR OVER THERE. THESE CASHIERS HAVE NO RIGHT TO TELL CUSTOMERS TO PACK THEIR GROCERIES. THIS IS YOUR JOB. DO YOUR JOB AND WATCH WHAT YOU SAY TO THE CUSTOMERS. IT COULD LEAD TO LAWSUITS AND MORE. THE OWNER BETTER SPEAK TO ALL THEIR CASHIERS . MOST ARE RUDE, OBNOXIOUS, AND HAVE NO KIND OF CUSTOMERS SERVICE SKILLS. DON'T EVER TELL ME TO PACK MY ITEMS. IF IT WASN'T FOR THE CUSTOMERS BUYING THERE YOU WILL NOT HAVE A JOB. THIS CASHIER PICKED THE WRONG PERSON THAT MORNING TO ORDER ME TO PACK MY ITEM'S. IT IS NOT HAPPENING!! ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been going to this place for almost 18 years, because its the only supermarket in the neighborhood. When weather permits I gladly walk 5 or 6 blocks to shop elsewhere. It"s almost always an unpleasant experience. Sales items not available, prices are missing or misleading, you ALWAYS havve to check your receipt!! Employees are rude (not all though) and argue with customers. Just recently I purchased 2 bags of chips that were so stale it was impossible to eat them, rather than bring them back I contacted the company explain the problem and received two coupons to replace them. The coupon clearly states one free any size product, and this is a manufacturer coupon it also States one coupon per purchase of specified product and that the client pays the sales tax. First the cashier is trying to tell me I have to buy one to get one free, which is not what the coupon says so he calls the manager which in a rude tone tells me that I have to buy another bag because I have to make one purchase, and that's while I'm purchasing $40 worth of groceries oh, I proceeded to tell him I am making a purchase and the coupon does not say that I want to get one free. He looks at the small writing that says specifically I can only use one coupon per purchase and I pointed that out to him and he keep insisting that the coupon says I have to make one purchase to get the second one free. Obviously he can't understand English, I keep telling him the coupon does not say anywhere buy one get one free and insist that that's what it means. When he saw that he couldn't make it stick he changed his excuse and stated that they don't have to accept the coupon and that's fine if that was his initial response. He made this big fuss for a $2 coupon which he gets reimbursed bye the company while I have been spending my money there for almost 20 years. Definitely not customer friendly are even appreciative. As I stated if I had better options I would never step foot in there again. If you have a car shop elsewhere. Key Food on Kings Highway is a dream compared to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to Food Universe today 8/4/24 to buy some eggs and carrots. There was a sign advertising Sunshine Eggs 2 for $5 but when I brought it to checkout, the cashier rang it up a higher price so I let her know that it was on sale. When we both went to double check, cashier tries to lie to my face that the sign attached was for another brand when it clearly matched what I grabbed. Cashier then grabs another guy stocking the shelves nearby who tries to lie to me again saying that the sign was expired (it wasnāt, it clearly said 8/2/24-8/6/2 and todayās date is 8/4) and he proceeds to remove the ad. At this point, we go back to the cash register and I ask to speak to a manager. The manager comes over, a tall Korean guy with a cap, who goes to look at, and retrieve, the removed sign. As he checks the pricing and sees the discrepancy, this psycho āmanagerā then decides to raise his voice and yell at ME, when he finds out that the pricing was correct per advertised on the sign and what they had in their system was wrong! So let me get this straight, rather than apologize to me for the deceit of his employees and the incorrect pricing in HIS system, he decides to yell at me, the customer instead? What kind of business are they running here? I argue back and ask why heās yelling at me and it escalates to a point where another employee who witnessed the whole exchange steps in to apologize to me and explain that the Microsoft outage last week caused it to ring up the wrong price. I was formerly a frequent shopper at Food Universe but after this incident, they just lost a longtime customer. There are are tons of groceries stores once you turn the corner onto bay pkwy that carry what you need that are not dishonest and attack customers for the storeās own mistakes. Based on other reviews seems like Iām not the only one who has terrible experiences with the disgusting behavior of this crazy aggressive āmanagerā...
